Where can you stay in central Italy these days that offers genuine Italian country living? Here is the place; a quiet rural setting: simple, comfortable, authentic. My home for 14 years. Come and enjoy all it has to offer while I am away working.
a This is a special place for special people...Tuscan country living, the old way! Quiet surroundings. Rolling hills, country walks, old houses, villages, good trattorias.. An AUTHENTIC old stone structure, which was originally a Granery. Plain old fashioned healthy living the way it was.
What this is not: The fairtale painted in Under the Tuscan Sun! This is not a place for picky people, who do not love the country style of living or who do not love cats. This is not for people on their first trip to Italy.
THIS IS: A very original very homey, unique place for the right kind of people who are open minded orginal thinkers, love nature and are not afraid of spiders! Welcome to REAL country living in Italy, where I have been for many many years, resident in Italy for over 35. (Always in the country).
My place reflects my artistic nature, love of beauty and nature, and my travels to different places. My life experience includes very varied careers and living in 4 countries. If you want a very original experience for your stay in Italy, please come and enjoy my unique environment. If you are still "with"me, read on.....

Staying aboard Tricia during my stay in Leros was relaxing and comfortable. She's a lovely boat with lots of charm. Her proximity to the marina meant easy access to a spacious shower, laundry facilities and great coffee at the Skipper's Bar.
My hosts, Christy and Michael, made me feel welcome. Periodically, they stopped by the boat to see how I was getting on and they were keen to make sure all was okay. Being very independent themselves, their hosting style is unfussy--perfect for people who just want to do their own thing.
I was not able to stay here in the end and despite the listed strict cancellation policy, Christy was very understanding. She seemed like a very sweet, understanding individual. Overall she made the whole process painless and easy.
Thank you Christy!
We had a very enjoyable stay on Tricia, relaxed and laid-back, all sun-specked shade and serenity amidst the bustle. Tricia is a charming old boat which no longer leaves the marina but still sports abundant sailing paraphernalia and bears an unmistakable imprint of the owners' personalities. Our hosts gave us a very warm welcome (gracious!), introduced us to the island (helpful!) and offered us a glimpse into their lives (fascinating!).
Perfect if you're looking for simple pleasures and a home-away-from-home experience.
My husband and I had a very comfortable stay at Mara's. The room was big, clean, and comfortable. The location for us was good. It was quiet and away from town, but still only a 10 minute drive to Montevarchi to get things from the grocery store or to a restaurant. It is a half and hour beautiful and very winding drive to the center of Chianti, and 45 minutes to an hour from the Florence airport.
Mara was very helpful with all of our questions. The only thing we had trouble with was communication about our arrival time, so make sure you make sure to contact her directly before coming (unlike we did). And her friend Christi was also very helpful with helping us plan our stay.
