  • We had a nice stay at Morgan's place in Canggu. It was our first trip to Bali and Morgan arranged for a pickup from the airport even though it was a last minute reservation.

The place itself is in a quiet setting. If you want peace and quiet, this is the place for you. The pool is beautiful and you have a view of the rice paddies too. It is about 20 mins from Echo beach and you can rent out mopeds from Morgan.

We were sad to leave the place and hope to be back again.

  • I stayed at Villa Suriya Abadi with 2 friends and found it to be the most pleasant part of the 7 days we spent in Bali. The rooms are tastefully appointed and the pool always inviting. We spent more time in the pool and relaxing at the villa than we did shopping or sightseeing.

Initially, the distance to get into downtown Kuta was a concern, but getting a taxi was easy and the fare was cheap. The staff were always ready to help and they try their best to accomodate our requests. They don't have a restaurant on site but there are a few Warung's nearby and a delivery menu is available. Warung Q down the road on the way to Echo Beach has the best Nasi Goreng, I had to have it twice.

We stayed the first 2 nights and we loved it so much that we decided to come back to Suriya Abadi after visiting Ubud. We were given the 2 rooms facing the pool and common area and most of the time had the place to ourselves. If the rooms above are occupied, you can hear the occupants clearly but it really did not bother me.

Renting a scooter will save you money on cab fare and it was also easy getting around on that. I didn't get to meet Morgan personally but she was always got back to me quickly with answers to my questions by email. I would stay here again.

Thank you Morgan and to the staff.

  • I enjoyed very much the villa of Morgan with its peaceful athmosphere, pool and view to the ricefield. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Morgan arranged a taxipickup at the airport, what was very helpfull, arriving at nigthtime and not knowing distances & normal prices in Bali.
There were several scooters arround to hire. It is very special and in the beginning a little adventure to drive with a scooter throug the traffic of Bali. The staff was also helpfull to arrance a driver for a daytrip to see some nice spots in Bali (Temples, Ricefields, Volcano Craters). I can highly recommend the place to stay.

  • We never met Morgan as she is just an agent for Vila rentals. We liked the out-of -the way location of Vila Surya Abadi - they had scooter rentals on site(good rates/scooters) for the brave/foolhardy - otherwise you'd be hiring a driver to get to the beach. Walking, even in such a beautiful place, is a sketchy business on shoulderless roads. Make sure to have the Villa's phone number on you as some drivers have a hard time finding the right place. The villa, as everyone calls these 'housetels' is aesthetically pleasing and the staff are friendly and helpful. Some of the rooms have exceptionally steep stairs though, and poorly located handrails, should you stumble on the way to a midnight swim in the lovely beckoning pool. Damaged tourists, in general, are a common enough sight and both of us got hurt just short of a visit to the hospital on this trip. The main area is an exceptionally pleasant place to hang out and perhaps socialize with some of the other guests. Maybe we were just fortunate or maybe these out of the way Vilas attract the kind of thoughtful interesting people you hope to, and we did, encounter from around the globe.

  • The villa is beautiful and spacious. Breakfast and coffee every morning while staring out into the fields = perfection. Couldn't have asked for a better stay!

  • the property is beautiful, overlooking the rice fields and very quiet. the village is pretty far away from the town and the services if offers. however, you have few cafes for lunch and dinner about 10 minutes away. they deliver food to the b&b, since the staff only makes breakfast. overall, the property was clean, the pool is lovely and the staff very helpful. we met the morgan, which was very nice to us.
they rent scooters (which you will definitely need if you want to see around) - and it's 45 minutes from the action (kuta and the many bars and restaurants). great if you want to relax. safe and their dog is sooo friendly! try to avoid the room on the ground floor near the bar (it was very humid) - but the room upstairs we had the second time was great. very good stay !

  • It was really difficult to find the Villa, since there is no real map or address published online on airbnb page. It took us like an hour to get the right coordinates.
The Villa was nice and clean and staff was really helpful.
Unfortunately there was a chicken coop right behind the fence next to my room, so they were waking me up from 5am every morning.
The region itself is really nice, but you need to rent a scooter for exploring the surroundings. Otherwise you are stuck at the property and there is really not much to do.

  • Morgan is a great host. She is so helpful and will really help you find accommodation when you need it. We were never able to meet in person but even then she made our stay in her spaces so comfortable and easy.

I also must comment on the helpfulness of the staff of Surya Abadi. They are gentle and very accommodating.

I would contact Morgan in the future for stays in bali and highly recommend her for my friends and family.

  • My sister and I headed to Bali to celebrate me finishing grad school and her moving back to the west coast for a new job. Villa Surya Abadi was a great retreat, and I'd book it again without hesitation.
