Stay in a piece of NOLA History!

House - Entire home/apt · Annunciation St, New Orleans, LA 70115, United States

The Space

Completely remodeled Bouligny plantation slave house just 2 blocks off the Mississippi. Open concept, brand new furniture throughout - this is a camelback double-wide so it is a house behind the front house - in the middle of everything but completely private front deck and back patio area. You can fall asleep to the sound of trains and boats up and down the Mississippi river, and the music from Tipitinas famous jazz club is nearby but not loud.

We've put together a list of all the spots locals love and tourists don't know about.

We have set our home up in every way so that the guest comes away with the experience of having LIVED in New Orleans. It is a profoundly unique city and sadly most visitors never make it beyond the French Quarter and miss out on a wealth of beauty and experience. Specifically, the size, condition, and the abundance of TWO private spaces in the heart of the city are virtually unheard of.

  • This house is really nice and cozy and so close to both the French Quarter and the Marigny and Frenchman Street. We had an amazing time in New Orleans thanks to this lovely place. Enzo was great and accommodating, the apartment was super clean, and there were tons of towels and sheets and the five of us felt like we were living in New Orleans while we were there.

  • This place rocks! First of all, Enzo was an amazing host! He was really helpful from beginning to end, friendly and respectful! The location of the place is perfect! It is exactly as it looks in the pictures. Rooms are big and comfortable. We had an amazing time staying there and we will definitely go back next year! Thanks Enzo! It was great dealing with you!

  • This place rules! I was so lucky to find this wonderful home on Airbnb. The home is renovated down to the last nail and it is lovely. This also means very clean, a biggie for me. The rooms are spacious, the windows let in lovely light throughout the day and the amenities are top notch. This unit has a second floor balcony that overlooks the street. I spent many a morning out there sipping coffee and enjoying the passersby!

The location is ideal for the French Quarter and Marigny, really it is convenient to the whole town as it is located near bus service and the street car. A little walking might be in store to some locations, but its good to work off all the good food and drink! I had a rental car and was able to park in front of the house every day of the 30 I stayed.

The linens are lovely and very clean. The kitchen is stocked with new dishes and cookware. There is a sweet, brand new laundry set up as well.

Enzo was the icing on the cake! He is a hardworking, patient, charismatic darling! He took care of all my needs very quickly. There was never an unanswered text or phone call. He ensured that I was well versed on the town as well. I got a locals guide straight from him! He is very particular about his guests and we had an in depth conversation before I rented to ensure I was the kind of person he wanted in his property. This is in a neighborhood and each resident expects respect of their personal privacy and comfort regarding noise and traffic. This is understandable and makes the location even more desirable for safety reasons as well as general warmth in spirit! As a single woman I felt safe and at ease on this 'up and coming' neighborhood street. A few families, lots of young couples and late 20, early 30 kinds of neighbors.

I could not say more about this apartment. I will always look back fondly on my time (a whole month) in this apartment. Good memories and good sleep!

Thanks so much Jessica. I could not have a copywriter write a more eloquent recap of what we're about. From my mouth to Gods ears we will have many many more guests like you.

About
Ex-travel journalist, David and I used to home trade around the world for 11 years. People loved our hometrading stories and often couldn't home trade themselves but still want that experience of actually living in a real neighborhood, food shopping and cooking, things you can't normally do on vacation. We also make sure all our guests are as hooked up as they can be, including restaurants and clubs most tourists don't know exist. I have a food blog that moves mostly between SF and New Orleans.
