It was a great experience in Veronica's family home !! Everyone is very nice and helpful. The house is a good place to stay, the eco-friendly way of life supported by Veronica and her husband fit perfectly in the environnement of Puerto Viejo, with all the nature and the beach just 2 minutes away.

Great stay with a great host! We liked Veronicas small and quiet place with the colorful houses and the herb garden. Definitely recommendable for those searching for a quiet and peaceful place.

My experience was pretty good. In the beginning, I was a bit frustrated because I paid and received confirmation through Airbnb, but the reservation was not confirmed by Veronica's place. With this missing step, I arrived and had no directions to get to the place. For over an hour and a half I awaited a response from them once I arrived in Puerto Viejo, but nothing. Thankfully, they are well known in the area, so I was able to ask for assistance from surrounding natives. Once I arrived, I was told that they didn't make reservations on Saturday (which is said nowhere in the profile) and that is why I didn't receive confirmation. Aside from this mishap in the beginning, I was really pleased with the accommodations. Clean, spacious room. Quiet and calm settings. Veronica and her daughter were super attentive and timely with getting the room together and arranging breakfast the next morning. They even let me keep my things there after checkout while I took my surf lesson! $6 breakfast is definitely worth it and delicious! Go for it! I would stay here again and the family is really nice.

This is the definition of hospitality. I have never felt more "at home" in any place I have ever visited. This family now feels like my family. Seriously. The hosts are warm and open, the food is delicious, the location is absolutely perfect, and the accommodations are just what I needed. I have extended my stay for two more weeks! Do yourself a favor and stay here if you are in Puerto Viejo. As a matter of fact, include Puerto Viejo in your travel plans JUST so you can stay here!

I had a wonderful stay at Veronica's Place. I felt very welcomed. Veronica's Family is very helpful and the room was very clean. The place is outside the center, but still very close as Puerto Viejo is quite small. I can definetely recommend Veronica's Place to everyone who is looking for a quiet, peaceful and fair-priced (17 Dollar for my room!) location.

It was a great time at veronicas place. Even she was so friendly when my friend needed a place to stay and she changed my booking to a double room. The cooking class was an amazing experience and i hope i can cook it at home once again. Thank you very much for a great time

Overall I had a great time in Puerto Viejo and at Veronicas place. When I arrived, her daughter Shanti was there to greet me and show me around. Shanti and her husband run the bed and breakfast for the most part. The room I stayed in was cozy and just the right size. It was very dark and the light was not very bright. The temperature was fine and the fan was loud but it worked very great! The bed was my biggest complaint. It was extremely uncomfortable and I did not sleep that well but it was not that big of a deal because there was plenty of time to relax during my stay. The shared kitchen is great with plenty of appliances and a full size fridge. The cold shower feels amazing because Puerto Viejo is really hot and humid. The rest of the property is lovely with plants everywhere and a huge starfruit tree. Veronica is a wonderful cook. Oh my gosh her food is amazing. I had breakfast there three times and it is so filling and nutritious. She makes this amazing star fruit and ginger juice that is seriously my favorite juice ever! I also took her cooking class and it was a lot of fun and I learned a lot. I do think that $35 is a little steep for the class but it was a good experience. She is so knowledgeable about heath in relation to food so it was a lot of fun talking to her because I am interested in and pursuing natural medicine. The location is really great. It is far enough from town that you can't really hear the loud music and commotion, but close enough that you can easily walk or bike anywhere within the town and the surrounding towns. I loved Puerto Viejo a lot. The food choices were awesome and the people are the best. When you are there definitely go to CariBeans and take their chocolate tour! Best tour in CR and best value. I enjoyed my time at Veronicas Place and would stay there again, but maybe in a different room.

My name is Veronica . I am married and have five kids who are now grown up. We grew up in a little town at the Caribbean Coast in Puerto Viejo, Costa Rica. My descendants and family are Jamaican. We are very proud of our culture.

I grew up in a Christian family were I learned about natural healing and that we need to take care of our mind, body, soul and we need to find the balance between the three of them.

My grandparents and parents were naturalists, it means that they always worked with plants and herbs. When somebody is sick or has an allergy, they cured them with their knowledge of the plants, trees and herbs. They passed it on to us and my husband and I continue to pass our home remedies ( like fresh herbs, fruit and vegetables) to our children and to other people who wants to change their lives in a healthy way.

All these are my inspiration along with the bible and nature that show me that my body is the temple of the holy spirit were God abides.
The sun , the water, the air, exercise, making time and the trust of God are the law of nature.

My husband and I still live in this small town in Puerto Viejo where everybody knows us and where we do community service for other people.

We offer short and long term accommodations. We have 3 family-size cabinas, and 3 private rooms in our house. The cabinas all have private bathrooms and a shared kitchen, and the rooms in the house are with shared bathroom, kitchen, and living room.

We also offer Home Remedies with our natural products, Caribbean Cooking Classes, consulting about health, Spanish lessons, volunteer projects.
