Awaken to the sound of tropical birds in this haven set in 32 lush acres of Eden Farm.
We have an abundance of many types of tropical fruit and flowering trees.
Sit on the porch, bathed in morning sunlight, with a view of the foothills of the Mayan Mountains.
Watch the toucans, parrots, and hummingbirds which frequent the property.

Near the Mayan village of San Antonio, it is one of the closest of rentable properties to the tourist attractions in the Mountain Pine Ridge.

We have good WiFi.

The space
We are registered with the Belize Tourist Board (BTB),
and are fully compliant with all safety rules.
It is a legal requirement in Belize that on a tourist visa, you stay only at registered accommodation and so do not risk being on the wrong side of the law.

The bedroom has a queen size double bed with a comfortable mattress.
There are colourful Guatemalan and Belizean textiles. There are 2 ceiling fans.
The bathroom has hot and cold water, with a tub bath with shower.
The kitchen is well equipped, with a gas cooker, fridge, toaster, and coffee maker. No need to buy any water ~ we supply filtered rainwater (from the Farmhouse) in the accommodation.

Guest access
Feel free to walk amongst the fruit and flowing trees in the front lawned area, which is shared with guests in the White House.
The White House is listed separately on Airbnb.
(The barbecue area attached to the White House is for the use of those guests only.)

Other things to note
Ideally, rent a car, then you will have maximum flexibility on your holiday.
4WD is not necessary unless you plan to drive off-road, for instance visiting Caracol.
We recommend Crystal Auto at the International Airport

If not renting a car, (eg. going from the airport to San Ignacio), you have the options of ~
a private shuttle (eg Tanya Nan)
a private taxi (pre-booked or from the rank)
a local bus to Belize City, then change buses to San Ignacio.

From San Ignacio, there are local buses which can stop at the farm.
When in San Antonio, you can arrange a taxi or tour operator transport with guide to see the sights.

In San Antonio village, there is The Farm Shop which we recommend.
There are also a few basic provision shops and veg stalls.
Supermarkets are located in St Elena (New Flags, Sansco and Chens for instance).

Where you’ll be

San Antonio, Cayo District, Belize

Eden Farm's many tropical fruit trees include: Jamaica Lime, soursop, avocado, banana, orange, tamarind, breadfruit, cashew, coconut, starfruit, mango, and grapefruit, among many.
Howler monkeys are sometimes heard just off the property.
The farm abuts Elijio Panti Medicinal Reserve, which can be accessed via San Antonio village, with a local guide. San Antonio village is a Yucatec Mayan village which is renowned for healers and artists. The late Elijio Panti is the most famous of healers in Belize, and used to reside and work in the village. He taught a number of healers in the area, and is immortalised in the book "Sastun: My Apprenticeship with a Maya Healer" by Rosita Arvigo, which is worth reading. The village has 2 small stores, and 7 churches. There is a Mayan site called Pacbitun, a short distance beyond the farm.
The farm is close to attractions such as: MET Horse-riding, Green Hills Butterfly Farm, Calico Jack's zip-lining, Barton Creek Cave, and the entrance to the Mountain Pine Ridge Forest Reserve. This leads to Rio-On Pools, 1000 Foot Falls, Rio-Frio Cave, Big Rock Falls and Caracol, the most important and largest of Mayan sites in Belize.
We are near to luxury lodges such as Blancaneaux Lodge, Gaia River Lodge, Table Rock Lodge and Mystic River Resort, for which you can book lunch, dinner and possibly pool tickets.
The twin towns of Santa Elena/San Ignacio are under 30 minutes away by car, down a partly paved road. There is a lively Saturday market in San Ignacio, where you can buy fish, shrimp and lobster (in season) if you go early enough. A few stalls are also present on other days.

We met 18 years ago on a course on preparing natural medicines in the Tropics. So it was not surprising that 10 years later we bought a 32 acre farm in the rainforest, near to a village renowned for its healers! We both have a passion for healthy home-grown foods and sustainable living. We continue to develop the farm: moving towards organic, planting fruit trees and veggies, improving our cow genetics, and growing our flock of Muscovy ducks.
