Cozy yet spacious just shy of the Arts District. I prefer a 2 night minimum stay but am open to 1 night in many circumstances. Just ask!
This cheerful and bright private apartment is located in "the valley"; An urban central Portland neighborhood between the West End & Libbytown ~ Close to fantastic restaurants, shops, galleries, cafes, walking trails & beaches plus only a 7 minute drive to the airport and a 5 minute walk to either the train or bus station.
The Arts District/Downtown is less than 1 mile away & the Old Port is just beyond that about another 3/4 mile.
The building is a 1900 New England colonial with some modern flair. The apartment is one of only 2 units in the building. Both are used as vacation rentals. This unit is on the 2nd floor and should be noted that it's accessed by a somewhat narrow staircase (should limited mobility be an issue).
My home is the house next door so if you need advice on what to explore or have any other questions feel free to call on me.
The apartment has 1 bedroom with a double bed, a separate living/dining area and 1 bonus room with a twin bed. So in all there is sleeping space for 3. More if you want to put an air mattress in the living room. *The bonus room is not available in winter months because it doesn't have its own radiator.
There is also a fully equipped kitchen with new appliances, a full (yet small) bathroom with a cute claw foot tub/shower combo (very Maine), a funky little tree house looking enclosed 3 season porch off the kitchen, and outside is a small patio with seating & tiki torches. There is ample, free on-street parking.
Well behaved hypoallergenic (non-shedding) dog welcome for an additional $5 per night, due upon check-in
* This is a non-smoking building, strictly enforced.
Thanks so much!
~5 min. cab ride to the Old Port
~Nearby bike shop rent for $25/day (exploring Portland & its surroundings by bike is GREAT)
~Ample free parking @ apartment
~Downtown easily accessible by foot if you enjoy a good walk (my personal recommendation)
~Bus stop a few feet away
~This is a non~smoking building.
~The building is shared with one other vacation rental (in a separate, private apartment) so please be respectful of noise levels.
~Towels for each guest, fresh linens on the beds, a roll of toilet paper & basic kitchen items are included (pretty much everything you'd need to make any number of meals). Plus a few spices, an assortment of teas.... However, please be prepared to supply your own additional paper products, spices, additional towels or anything else you may feel would make your stay that much more comfortable.
Great experience, apartment was just like in photos. Easy to find and short ride to downtown. Easy parking, and very welcoming to my dog! Thank you for a clean place to stay and the local tips!
Chaning was very thorough and responsible to requests about the place and kept a clean apartment.
The apartment was exactly as pictured on the site. Very cute and comfortable. Chaning was helpful and responsive. It is a bit of a walk to the downtown area but there are plenty of cabs and a bus. The apartment is situated on a busy street so if you aren't used to street/city noise, bring earplugs. Overall great experience!
Chaning made getting in and out of the apartment seamless. She was very responsive and helpful.
Her location was less central than expected and it felt too far to walk to downtown Portland at night. (About a 2 mile walk.)
The apartment was cozy and well decorated.
It was very close to the highway so there was lots of traffic noise. The neighbors were also quite loud.
Wonderful pad for a ladies weekend in Portland! Walking distance from the train station and a short cab ride to the Old Port. We did not meet Chaning, but she pointed us to an awesome neighborhood fest in East Bayside. Would absolutely stay here again!
Chaning was great and very friendly. The entire apartment was quaint, had a ton of character, and well located. I definitely recommend it to anyone staying in Portland.
Chaning is nice. I arrived early and she was there to help. The place is actually easy to find even the instruction is complicated. Neighborhood is average.

I'm originally from San Francisco, lived many years in and around Boulder Colorado and now live in Portland enjoying "the way life should be" (Maine's motto...and I really can't argue). I have a 22 year old son and a 3 year old daughter whom I adore. My favorite hobbies are photography, learning French & taking long walks. I love what I do for work and strive to make each day an adventure. :)
