About This Listing
A cozy, comfortable, functional and spacious apartment located in the heart of the historical center, 3 min walk to Hagia Sophia and Kamara and 10 min walk to the sea and the White Tower.
One-bedroom 55m2 flat with study, salon, bathroom, kitchen (fully equipped) and 2 small balconies on third floor of a building located in the area of all the sights, markets, chic cafes and restaurants. Fully furnished and minimaly decorated, bright and quiet, free wifi access, central heating (gas, automatically adjusted) and air-conditioning for the summer months and 24 hours hot water.
A third person can be accommodated at the salon couch, that is a comfortable single bed. The price for two is for a couple or friends that will share the bed in the bedroom, if one of the guests wants to sleep in the couch and the other one alone in the bedroom the price changes, so let me know before your booking!
My guests (a couple usually) can have access to the whole flat and all the privacy they need. You wont share my space with my cat, shown in the pics, she 's there to keep away allergic persons or ones with medieval prejudices!
Interaction with Guests
I am decribed as a communicative and warm person, so I prefer to meet you personally and hand you the keys of my apartment, show the space and be available to respond to any demand you mighthave. After your welcoming I retire to a 15 min away apartment and I am at your disposal to help in any possible way. Breakfast can be prepared and served upon request. Cultural walks (the sefaradic and the ottoman one) can be arranged at reasonable prices.
What I adore about my neighborhood is the fact that it still keeps its character as such, although situated in the heart of the city center. Shopkeepers know the residents and vice versa, solidarity is a value still!
Only a few meters from the entrance of the building there is a bus stop (IASONIDOU) on Egnatia street, connecting the spot with all the neighborhoods of the city, propably you will never need it, just at your arrival or departure time to take you/from/to the train/bus station or the airport.
Other Things to Note
You are welcome to book even for a single day, but not during the weekend, particularly not without my approval.
The use of the washing machine, even in the case that is free (4 days minimum stay), is done by me and not the guests.
Unfortunately, due to disrespectful use of my kitchen, it is no more available for cooking, unless you contact me before a booking.
My guests are informed that this is an apartment not intended and decorated for rental and profit but for living, enjoying and pleasure, that's its advantage compared to hotels or hotel-like spaces, so being respectful and delivering the space for the next travelers is highly appreciated!
Yota è stata molto gentile e puntuale nell'accoglierci.
We stayed one night at Yota's lovely apartment in the heart of Thessaloniki. She met us at the door, made us feel welcome by showing us around, letting us know that it was ok to help ourselves to teas and coffee, and giving us directions to one of her favorite neighborhood restaurants for meze. Her place is very clean and cozy with two small balconies overlooking a quiet courtyard, good wifi connection, and a very comfortable bed. We really appreciated that she let us leave our luggage while we explored the city the next day, even though we weren't staying another night. A terrific host in a fascinating city!
Yota was a very welcoming host. She was there when we arrived. In addition to showing us around she gave us general tips about the city and the region. Thanks to her recommendations we saw the best archeological site in the region (Philip the second's tomb) and ate in wonderful restaurants. The house itself was more than we ever needed - at the heart of the city close to all the amenities and the sea, clean and self-sufficient and yet in a quiet street. Shopping and dining are all close-by and we wouldn't hesitate to book the place again when we visit Thessaloniki (in not so distant a future, we hope).
We enjoyed Thessaloniki very much, but would certainly stay somewhere else in the future. We apologize if our communication was poor after a long day of international travel, but we were greeted very coldly and never ended up feeling at home in Yota's flat.
This was my first airbnb experience and it was really great! Everything we needed was provided and the location was good-5 minutes walk from tiburtina station. Thanks Yota
About the Host, Yota
I hope that I will be proved to be a helpful and trustworthy host.
I used to work as a lawyer for 22 years, needed a pause to rethink and reorganise my life, that explains the airbnb choice.
I have travelled through Europe, always alone, following my path, learning and enjoying! I like cooking and I can't live without art- books, plays, films, photography, history also fascinates me ...
