Interaction with Guests
I'm at work a lot, but I'm always available by cell phone. I tend to keep to myself at home, but I'm happy to give recommendations on what to visit in the city, good restaurants, and help navigating the subway!
This Astoria neighborhood is diverse, friendly and safe. Within a few blocks you can find all kinds of restaurants and shops. The Socrates sculpture garden, Noguchi musem, Museum of the Moving Image are all a short walk away. (Also the best slice of pizza in NY can be found in my neighborhood.)
The N/Q Broadway stop is two blocks away, and it's just a few stops away from Manhattan! Laguardia Airport is an easy 15 minute cab ride.
Other Things to Note
This apartment is on a fourth floor walk-up. There is no elevator. Also I have a small, friendly dog.
This is a non-smoking apartment. Whenever possible I'm flexible with the check-in/check-out time. Just ask!
a lovely room in a conveniently located apartment complex in Queens, just a quick subway trip right into Manhattan. Thanks again Lauren, we loved our stay!!
Lauren was great! She was very flexible with our schedule. When our flights came in later than planned, she was able to accomodate. The room was clean and had more than enough space for us both. We very much enjoyed our stay with Lauren!
Lauren was super nice and her dog was the cutest thing I've seen for a while! The apartment is lovely and the room is big. The kitchen was tidy like the rest of the apartment and Lauren was hospitable and shared her coffee and bagels. This was my first stay via Airbnb and it was an extremely nice experience. Thank you, Lauren!
We had a great trip to NY. Lauren's apartment was very clean, quiet,
in a safe neighborhood easy to get to from the subway, lots of restaurants/food choices within walking distance. Highly recommend, and we would stay there again!
Lauren is very nice host and thanks to her, I had a great experience at New York. Thank a lot.
Lauren ist nett, das Zimmer sauber und zum wohlfühlen eingerichtet.
Die Lage in Astoria ist klasse!
Definitely good stay! Lived in Manhattan until 2011 and was bit worried that I wouldn't be able to rest (firetruck and ambulance siren, construction work at night and car honking!). But being in Astoria yet only 15 minutes away from Lex and 59th made moving in-and-out of the city much easier and manageable. Strongly recommend anyone who wants to stay in quiet neighborhood but convenient access to the city.
I'm originally from Kansas and have lived in New York for the past ten years. Even though I tend to be an introvert, I'm still an open and friendly Midwesterner. I keep to myself at home and like to give people their privacy. I've delighted in exploring this city for the past decade and love sharing my favorite adventures with newcomers.
