Ann & Roy Butler Hike & Bike Trail
This trail is a local favorite for running and biking, but it’s recently been listed in Women’s Health magazine as one of the “Top 10 Nature Runs in the United States.”
To get to the trail take Navasota Street (.4 mi) and continue straight on E. 11th (.2), turn right on Comal (1.2 mi) until you reach the lake and trail.
Bike share: Austin’s freshly launched bike share program B-cycle expands to the Eastside (and much of the central city) in March 2014. You’ll then be able to pick up a bike downtown, for example, ride it to the Eastside, and leave it at a docking station near the office. Rides of less than 30 minutes are free with a daily $8 or weekly $25 rate (available at kiosks) or annual $80 membership. Look up station locations and sign up.
A neighbor rents bikes for $10/day. It’s a great deal. Let me know if you want to rent, and I’ll connect you.
Even though we are directly east of downtown Austin, there’s not a high concentration of taxi cabs in the neighborhood. While it’s easy to hail a cab when you’re in downtown proper, it’s nearly impossible from the location we’re at. For this reason, you’ll need to call ahead to get
a cab. Here are the numbers of the most popular Austin cab companies:
Austin Yellow Cab: (phone number hidden) Austin Cab Company: (phone number hidden) Lone Star Cab: (phone number hidden)
Catch a quick ride to the Airport from downtown, UT, or the Capitol.
There is plenty of space in the luggage racks for luggage. Ride takes 20-30 minutes, depending on where you board the bus. The closest stop for the Airstream is 12th/Trinity. It’s not listed on the schedule, but the bus will stop coming inbound if you pull the cord or let the bus driver know. Outbound to the airport picks up at 12th/Red River. To find out when it picks up go to (website hidden) planner.
Warning: it’s .4 miles to get from Airstream to 12th/ Trinity and .5 miles to get to 12th/Red River. It’s a relative short distance, but in summer it’s hot and if you have heavy luggage it’s a hassle. Going from 12th/Trinity to the Swedish Hill neighborhood, it’s uphill.

It was a pleasure to meet Betsy.Although I've been through many troubles during my short stay. The water heater had broken, the electricity had put off,the washer stopped working. But overall the tiny house was a lovely place to stay after fixed these tiny defaults.Hope those bad luck will never fall on other guests.
The tiny cabin was wonderful! Close to lots of great areas in Austin and Betsy quickly responded to all of our questions. My cousin left her iPad behind and Betsy was kind enough to mail it back to her.
Betsy was so helpful! She left some recommendations of places to visit & restaurants as well - we tried some of them & they were awesome! The tiny house was very neat & well organized when we arrived. Didn't have a problem getting there. Everything was within 15 mins. Definitely looking forward to coming back! Such an amazing experience! :)
This tiny house was charming, perfectly located, very comfortable, and absolutely perfect for our stay in Austin. Betsey went above and beyond to make sure we had what we needed (it rained and she left ponchos for us!) before and during our stay. The tiny house is very cozy, clean, and provides you with all you'll need. She is a great communicator and was very available and helpful. She left restaurant recommendations, directions, and great tips that made our time in Austin seamless and fun!
Loved this tiny home! Much bigger inside than expected. Didn't use the TV or kitchen, but the shower, bed and AC were great. The room was clean, and had all the essentials. This was our first time in Austin, so it was great the cabin was super close (10-15min drive) to everything- Downtown, South Congress, East Austin, Carson Creek Ranch (for Psych Fest!) and the airport. Great and responsive communication from Betsy when we had questions. We will miss this tiny cabin!
