  • Fred was wonderful about answering questions and getting back to me. He is very easy to communicate with. We really enjoyed our stay up there. As other reviewers have mentioned it is a bit of a drive, however the drive is beautiful. The property is lovely. I highly recommend bringing sturdy shoes so you can explore.

  • The Mountain Vineyard Retreat was a perfect spot for our couples anniversary trip. Between the stunning views from the deck and the wonderfully furnished house, we were set! The heated pool was an added bonus for our afternoons after wine-tasting. While it is about a 20 minute drive up the mountain from Napa, it is well worth the extra time! We simply planned excursions for the day and came back each evening to grill and relax. The hiking trails and vineyards are perfect for a little vacation exercise. Our group consisted of 4 couples and we never felt crowded in this spacious home. The high end finishes in the kitchens and bathrooms make for a welcoming space. If you are looking to unwind and unplug, this is the spot. Fred was great to get back to us quickly with answers to our questions. I cannot say enough about this beautiful home. Although we left our children at home, we all agreed that the house would be very family friendly for future visits. Don't miss the beauty of the hills above Napa! You will not be disappointed.

    Response from Fred:

Thank you Stephanie for the review. I am glad you and your group had a good time at our home. There is a pod coffee maker and of course the French Press. We had a larger coffee maker prior to your stay, but it was damaged by a prior guest. We plan to replace this soon. The reason we have no open fires or a pit outside is that we are in a very high fire area and would not want to tempt faith since the firetrucks are at least 30 minutes away.

    Cheers,

    -Fred

  • The Mountain Vineyard Retreat was spectacular. I rented the house for an event with nine girls for a bachelorette party. It was absolutely perfect, and the host Fred was kind and responsive by email.

Great kitchen and large dining table for big meals. We used the large outdoor tables several times because the weather was hot and perfect for eating breakfast or having happy hour out in the sun. Amazing sweeping views, not a house in sight. House was warm, clean and comfortable. Our limo bus was able to get up to the top of the mountain and back easily to pick us up and drop us off after wine tasting.

Layout of the house: Master bedroom (2), Second bedroom (2), Trundle bedroom (behind second bedroom) (2), Third bedroom (2), pull out couch behind third bedroom (2). All of the beds were extremely comfortable with great linens and mattresses. There were 3.5 bathrooms, making it easy for everyone to shower and get ready.

I'd love to rent this again. Thank you Fred!

  • This house was absolutely beautiful. The drive up to the house is a bit narrow, but well worth the views. The only downside is that it is a 20-30 minute drive to downtown napa. I will definitely stay here again on my next family or girls trip up to napa.

  • I had a great stay at Fred's house last weekend. He was a great host and obviously maintains his house very well. We were blown away by the great sunset that you could see every morning (when it wasn't foggy). Fred also gave a very educational tour of his vineyard. I came away knowing quite a bit more about what it takes to grow grapes for wine. I would highly recommend staying here if possible.

  • I recently stayed at Fred's place for a bachelorette weekend. It was absolutely wonderful. The pictures do not do it justice. The rooms are HUGE and the beds are so comfortable. We had eight people and had more than enough space. Fred met us at the place when we checked in and took us on a tour of the vineyard and did a tasting of their wine. It was probably one of the highlights of the weekend for all of us. Definitely try and arrange for that during your stay.

  • Our stay at Mountain Vineyard Retreat was amazing. The home is beautiful with an updated kitchen and bathrooms. The house probably has the best view of the Napa valley of any that I've seen. The view from the deck is incredible. This is a must rent and I give it high reviews

  • We had an absolutely lovely time at this property. We rented the house for a weekend with friends - in total, three couples each with a baby or small child. The outdoor space was fantastic - stunning views and a great playground for the children. We enjoyed a number of walks in the area and explored the property. The home itself also exceeded our expectations. It was even nicer in person than in the photos. During our stay we were already planning our next visit - we'd like to come back during the summer when the pool is open for another getaway. I'd highly recommend this property to anyone looking for some fresh air and relaxation.
