Our 2-bedroom, top-floor flat is soaked with sunlight and can accommodate up to 4 people.
The flat is walking distance from Golden Gate Park and the Presidio, with speedy access to downtown. We have two large bedrooms, a huge living room, an eat-in kitchen, and a balcony and yard.
We also have an office which, by request, could be turned into a 3rd bedroom.
Within 3 minutes (walking!) of some of San Fran's best restaurants, including Burma Superstar, Q, and Chapeau!
We are also situated near some of the best BEACHES in the area, including Crissy Field, Baker Beach, China Beach, and Ocean Beach.
Within 2 blocks are several different MUNI lines (the 1, the 38, the 33, and the 44) which can take you anywhere in the city.
But even on foot, there's much to see, including Clement Street, Presidio Heights, University of San Francisco, and both Golden Gate Park and the Presidio.

Alex's apartment (email hidden) to spend your time in San Francisco. It was clean, cozy and much more than we expected! Thanks for having us there, Alex+family, we had a great time!
My friend and I had a wonderful week-long stay at Alex's apartment. The location is great, there are lots of places and parks to walk to, and several buses to get downtown. While there are plenty of restaurants around, the neighborhood is calm and quiet. The apt itself was very spacious, clean, and cozy. There were notes and maps around to make us feel more comfortable, and Alex was easily accessible by phone or email if needed. I definitely recommend staying here!
The flat was perfect for me & my family with our little boy, he could use existing toys, it is clean & spacious, especially kitchen is well equiped. Location is top for exploring San Francisco, bus connection to many points of interest is easy and near.
As we knowed parking situation is difficult, and stairs to 2nd floor are narrow and steep. But these little problems can be solved with a little bit of sweat :-)
We can recommend to everyone who will visit SF.
My family and I had a great time at Alex and Barbara's place. The house was spacious, clean and conveniently located on a residential street with some really nice restaurants and shops only a block away. The location is very central; it never took us more than 30minutes to get to the city attractions we visited. Although we never met Alex or Barbara, they arranged for us to get the key from their neighbor who was nice and helpful. Even though we did not get the chance the meet in person, Alex and Barbara kept a very good communication. Upon our departure I had a few questions to which Alex and Barbara responded within minutes. I highly recommend this location if you are planning on visiting San Francisco.
The Troy flat is truly centrally located and spacious. We were able to easily get around SF without having a car - and parking would have been difficult in this neighborhood. Be prepared to carry luggage up to the third floor, but the effort is worth it. The kitchen is well-equipped, the beds are comfortable, and the natural light is great. There are notes throughout the flat which provide directions on how to use something or which label what's in the cabinets, and these instructions helped us feel quickly at home. Alex communicated with us regularly to make sure that we were having a good stay. In short, we couldn't have asked for more.
It was a great experience!
Really beautiful apartment, very spacious, very clean and tidy with everything clearly labelled! Nice balcony for sitting outside. Just one word of caution for anyone bringing a car (Alex did warn us): parking is not easy – it is possible to find two hour parking, but it’s a struggle. There are garages quite near, but are expensive. So if you can do without a car then do so! Apartment is in great location.
This place rocks! Clean, spacious, GREAT location.
We used Alex's lovely apartment to house family in town for a wedding. It was perfect: great location, homey feel, and plenty of space. I felt much more at ease knowing that my family was settled into such a nice, convenient spot, with groceries, restaurants, and parks all within walking distance.
This was our first Airbnb experience, and it was a good one! The flat was exactly as advertised. Our two teens each had their own room and there was plenty of space for everyone to stretch out. The kitchen is well-appointed and the living room is comfortable. We had a few nights in after spending busy days touring the city, and felt very at ease.
The neighbourhood is convenient (by foot) to Golden Gate Park and the Presidio. If you're a runner, you'll want to add Golden Gate Park to your route! Muir Woods (much recommended!) is only 25 mins away by car. The Geary bus (38L) will take you downtown in about 30 minutes. Around the corner on Clement were some excellent restaurants - we recommend Burma Superstar, Q, and Chapeau.
While people may rave about the Mission District and the Castro, we felt that the Richmond District was more our speed, and we felt more comfortable walking around. Granted, you'll want to visit the Mission - we did, and it was cool indeed - but we felt that we were coming home to Richmond every night.
While we didn't get to meet Alex or his family, he kept in touch by phone/text/email and answered our questions. Great service and follow up!
