You will love your stay in this comfortable 5 bedroom cottage located on a large island of the world-renowned and exclusive Lake Muskoka. You will be surrounded by nature and still be less than a two hour drive from Toronto.
Wide screen TV, blu-ray player & movies
Parking for 2 cars at the marina.
Water-taxi service is available nearby.
You may want to rent a powerboat from one of the many marinas on the lake. We will be glad to provide you with contact information or you can web-search "boat rentals Lake Muskoka".
Other Things to Note
We will arrange for the boat ride to and from a local marina. Because you are on an island, you will have to bring with you food and drink supplies, enough to last for your stay. Boat taxi service (Muskoka Water Taxi) is available should you require it. Their phone number is posted on site.
The tap water is pumped from the lake and therefore is not drinkable. Please bring your own. We will provide a 20 liter container of fresh spring water for your use. Should you need to refill it a potable water fill station (free) is available near the access marina. Location map is on site.
Please note that we are firm on the 7 night minimum stay requirement. Thank you for understanding.
Because of cottage's location in a conifer tree forest and the potential hazard for fire, there is no smoking inside or anywhere on the property.
The host was amazing. Very nice and friendly. Went way above and beyond with call of duty. The cottage was simply breathtaking. Well worth the money and more. Would absolutely use again.
Perfect family retrieve, The Riva's are excellent Hostess and where there to greet us and give us a ride to the Island. This is what northern Canada is all about, a truly Muskoka experience.
The cottage is very comfortable and the views are just perfect, we some have crapy rainy days very very unusual for August, but the place is so well equipped, that the children didn't mind, plenty of movies and a very large area for group card and board games.
We will definitely come back next year.
Make a note the cottage is in an island and a round trip to mainland is $100 Canadian, if you are in to lets go in to town a lot, this is not for you, if you want to disconnect from all (well, almost, there is Satellite TV etc) it is perfect.
If you can afford to rent a boat, it is even better, we will definitely look in to it next year.
Epic, wonderful, relaxing and amazing. Im afraid of writing such a gushing review because we might not be able to reserve it again for next year!
It started with Marc graciously giving us a boat tour from the marina to the cottage, showing us around, and helping us get setup when we arrived. After that we loaded our boat, drove across to the cottage, unloaded and started to relax. All in we rented the cottage for 18 days, 3 weekends and 2 weeks.
The cottage is on a quiet sheltered bay, the water is usually very calm and we great for skiing and wakeboarding. There is deep-ish water right off the dock (8+ feet) so jumping and diving was fine. The patio and the dock were beautiful - most of our afternoons and evenings were spent lounging and napping. There is a wonderful, modern and super awesome movie collection that we enjoyed on the rainy days, a solid BBQ, and tons of space. We had regular visitors and there were tons of beds, lots of table space, and plenty of chairs. Kitchen was small, but very well equipped and manageable.
It was a bit more work than we expected being on an island (carrying everything over by boat and then back again as garbage), and you will definitely want to rent a boat (otherwise it would be too limiting). But we fully enjoyed the experience and would highly recommend it!
Also - Marc is amazing. He was super accessible via email and text and helped us enormously planning our trip.
