Live the experience of Cretan landscape , relax and go with the flow, in this sunny studio with amazing view of the legendary White Mountains, the sea and the port of Souda bay. It's located in Pithari, 5 minutes driving to the nearest beach, 15 minutes away from city of Chania, the airport, the port and the national road. A compeletely equiped appartment, part of a bigger house built in a private area of 4 acres, in touch with the nature, offers joy, peace and quite.

The space
It is a studio of 50 sqm, fully equipped in a modern style, yet in direct contact and harmony with the nature around it. Situated on the eastern side of a larger home where our family lives, on a private plot of 4 acres full of olive trees and pine trees, shrubs, herbs and wildflowers of local flora and with a splendid view of the Souda bay and the mountain range of the White Mountains. All around, the tweets of birds and the hum of cicadas is heard.
To get to the apartment, you pass through a private 70-meter alley that leads to a large park (shared), cross the white-fenced courtyard of the central residence from where a small stone staircase leads to the entrance.

The appartment is dominated by the element of natural wood. Basic furniture are handmade by the owner, while some vintage pieces of special beauty are distinguished. The apartment is designed for people who love nature as it is located next to a natural rock garden, which is organised as a herb garden, partly shaded by pine trees. You can spend some time soaking in the garden and learn from us, the uses and qualities of Cretan herbs.

The home is equipped with everything that includes a full house as well as everything you may need for your personal care. A full kitchen with filter and espresso coffee makers, a desk to touch your laptop, a comfortable living room and a double handmade bed, dominating the highest level of the house, from which one can enjoy day and night the stunning sea and mountain view from the large windows. The view is even better than the balcony of the studio, which "sees" also towards the rock garden and the small pine forest. From here, you can watch the most beautiful sunrise: You'll have to sucrifice your lie-in, but it will be unforgettable!

We named our property "Garden of Zephyros" because it accepts almost all year the favorable influence of the winds, sometimes strong and sometimes gentle and relaxing.
The apartment is a perfect seasonal observatory, located 300 meters above sea level.

A complete guide to the Old Town of Chania, full of secrets and stories of the city that you will not find anywhere else awaits every guest of the Garden of Zephyrus. The 16-page guide is our own publication and is addressed exclusively to our guests and includes a detailed map with the route you can follow to get to know our city as well as even few locals know.

For artists: we are often visited by artists to be inspired by the surrounding nature and paint the landscape, so we thought we would include an outdoor easel in our facilities. Just ask for it!

Guest access
There is a shared parking lot and a big front yard. You can explore the olive grove, meet Cretan flora (and fauna) in our herb garden and learn about Cretan herbs and their properties or, you can relax under the pines trees, joining an incredible atmosphere.

Other things to note
We offer good rates to digital nomads and retirees from all over the world who want to spend some time with us during the autumn, winter or early spring months.
You can consider staying at Zephyrus Garden as a total experience of living in the Cretan countryside, in nature, observing the changes of the weather from one day to the next. But at the same time you will enjoy a pleasant working or relaxing environment, the peace and quiet offered by the location of the house, isolated from the buzz and traffic of the city, but also 15 minutes away from its center. Additionally, a 4G internet connection allows you to work online. Keep in mind that you will need to rent a car for your travels, as public transport in the area in winter is not as good as in the tourist season. But again, the owners who live in the same building often offer to take you with them when they go to town or to the nearby market.
