Although I do not live at the property, I will be always available to my guests during their stay to ensure an enjoyable stay.
It is a lovely quiet neighbourhood but only a five minute walk to the centre of Kilkenny.
Buses stop just down the street and the train station is a 20 minute walk.
Caroline was extremely helpful and friendly. She had given her number and told me to call if there were any problems.
The location was perfect. It was only 5 minutes walk to the city centre.
The house was fine, although it could do with a bit of (email hidden)e room itself was OK. It was fairly basic, but was fine for a place to sleep for the night. It was similar to a hostel set up. There was no one else in the house for the weekend, however be aware on busier weekends you would share the house/kitchen with others.
This is is perfect if you are looking for a bed for a night in a good location. Would be ideal for a group going on a stag/hen etc.
Caroline said she would not be there when we arrived but to collect the keys at the B&B, which was fine with us. However when we arrived, nobody at the B&B was expecting us and we had a bit of a wait to get keys etc. The staff were very nice, but were unsure whether or not we were to come down to the B&B for breakfast, which had been included in the price. We were not told that we would actually be staying in a hostel (which was not manned - we found the front door unlocked at one stage when we returned) and when we went back down the following morning for breakfast, the morning staff were not aware that we were coming. They were helpful and finally did give us the full (and excellent!) breakfast when we explained how much we had paid for the room in the hostel, which they thought was more than normal. Cannot fault the staff, they went above and beyond for us, but the place was not as described and certainly did not match the photos, and was very expensive for what was essentially a dorm room.
Caroline was a friendly and helpful host. The room i stayed in was really good value for money. The location of the house is perfect as it is only a short walk from the centre of town but far enough away to avoid the noise of the partying hoards.
