Peaceful, semi-rustic home on 16 wooded acres.
Sweet 'suite' with private bath, bedroom, and outer room with 2 twin beds and writing table. (new photo coming soon)

Great place to get away from it all - for a little personal, writing, creative, or meditation retreat; to get a good hit of nature; to use as a base camp while exploring the area and all it has to offer.

Everyone welcome!

DUE TO COVID-19 & MA governor's orders, I'm temporarily unable to host. Hope to resume early/mid June!

The space
A Place for Peace - a simple yet lovely home on a beautiful piece of property that offers the feel of camping or a cabin, with the amenities of a B&B or small inn.

Bright colors mix with natural wood and lots of windows that look out into a forest of oak and maple and birch and moss covered rocks and flowers and ornamental grasses.

Private guest space includes bedroom, sitting room (with bed), and full bath.

Guest access
Guests are welcome to enjoy spacious living area, dining room, campfires, marked trail, porches, hammock, and more.

Fresh blueberries in your morning cereal? Take your bowl right out to the bushes and pick your own!

Afternoon paddle or swim? We're just a few miles from the Chesterfield Gorge and the DAR State Forest, and offer use of canoe and everything you need to transport and enjoy it for a small additional fee.

Other things to note
Light, cold breakfast, coffee, tea included.
Additional 'ad ons' may be available during some stays (e.g., hot breakfast, fireside refreshments, pet-sitting, writing, meditation, or creative activities/events/workshops)

Location

Williamsburg, Massachusetts, United States

House is 1.5 miles off main road, and first house after pavement ends. It's a quiet street with minimal car activity, where people let their dogs walk off leash, keep their cats indoors, and never leave their trash out unless they want to clean up after bears make a mess.

There are few things I enjoy more than meeting people, seeing things I've never seen, and doing things I've never done. I'm a sociologist (social psychologist) by training and by nature - always curious, easily interested. I am particularly fond of good, thoughtful conversation, hot dark-roast coffee, spending time outdoors, starry nights, creatures of all sorts. I love spending time with people from places and who live lives quite different from my own, and contributing to the richness of travelers' and tourists' experiences. I've spent a season as a Winter Innkeeper on Cape Cod, and a full season living in a tent at a hostel in southern Florida and working as an interpretive guide in Everglades National Park, and have long imagined turning my home and property into a mini-retreat or B&B-esque place. Hosting through AirBnB is something like trying on the fantasy/dream/vision.
