What a great place to stay in Portland! Very comfortable condo and right across the street from good coffee! Close to fun restaurants and neighborhoods but not far at all from downtown. I would absolutely stay here again.
This is the perfect place to stay while in Portland. The neighborhood was great, tons of stuff to do. We hiked up to Mt. Tabor, ate amazing food and shopped off of Hawthorne and Belmont streets. There is a bakery on the corner that made amazing bread and treats in the morning. The condo was fantastic and had everything one could possibly need. There was a full kitchen with all the appliances, utensils and fresh coffee beans. The bathroom, living room and bedroom were all similarly well appointed. Finally thanks to our hosts, they were lovely and accommodating when our schedule changed during check-in.
This is a lovely little apartment in a great spot - right at the end of the groovy part of Hawthorne, so a bit more quiet/neighborhood-y. Walking distance to all the Hawthorne restaurants and shops - and in the other direction, to Mount Tabor.Easy bus to town.
Meeting to get the key was easy and the apartment was self-explanatory. (One note - if you can't sleep in light rooms, you might bring a mask - one night the neighbors' lights were on and it was really bright in the bedroom.)
The condo is absolutely wonderful, and the bed is like sleeping on a cloud. It's in a fabulous neighborhood. A few blocks from Mt. Tabor, for peaceful morning hikes. Across the street from The Alpine Press, which makes the best shot of espresso you've ever had, and The Sapphire, for intimate late night cocktails. Next door to Tabor Bread, which makes for the perfect, cozy breakfast nook. and just down the street from loads more good food and the 14 bus, which will get you to wherever you need to go. Be sure to check out OTTO too, which is a delicious brunch spot on Hawthorne also owned by these lovely people!
The condominium was great. A full-size refrigerator (for the beer) and anything else we could need. The location was in walking distance from a grocery store and the Hawthorne Hopworks, as well as a phenomenal mole restaurant. We would have been able to ride bikes everywhere, but it rained pretty much solid for the four days we were in Portland. Maybe we'll be back in the summer next time.
I stayed here for 4 nights and had a great time. The condo was as described and I couldn't ask for a better location. Great hiking at Mount Tabor a few blocks east and an endless strip of shops and awesome restaurants going west, starting literally across the street.
This was my second stay at Butternut Condos. My experience was as wonderful this time as it was the first time. The apartment was clean and very well supplied with every need one could imagine. The owners are eager to make sure that renters are comfortable in every way. I could not be more pleased with my experience there and will continue to stay there when I visit my daughter and her family. It is great to have discovered a place that is so comfortable for me in every way. Thanks Butternut Condos!
We spent an excellent three days at the Butternut Condos in early August. The fabulously located condo is very well appointed and had everything we needed for our Portland stay, including a secure basement area in which we were able to store our mountain bikes.
Within walking distance, we had plenty to explore. We can't wait to come back for more triple B - bacon, brie, and basil - waffles at the nearby Waffle Window and a walk back up to the Cheese Bar at the foot of Mt Tabor for another wonderful evening of cheese, charcuterie, and wine.
A big thank you to the entire family behind the Butternut Comdos for helping make our Portland trip such a good one. We look forward to coming back!
My husband 5 year old daughter and I went to Portland OR. to visit our son and his wife and brand new baby. I made the reservations a few months ago and when we confirmed the reservation the host was not very pleasant to me. She kept asking who was staying in the room I told her just myself and husband and daughter. Apparently she didn't believe and sent a rude email saying if I had to put more people on the reservation i could do so thru airbnb. When we arrived in town after driving 2 days she gave me a 1 hour window to check in. I was to be there between 4-5pm If I didn't get there by 5pm I couldn't check in until 9pm. If this was the only problem i would have let it go but. The last night we were there we got a knock at our door at 11:45pm basically midnight. It was her son telling us to turn off the air conditioner He told my husband he better turn it off and if he didnt he could hear the fans blowing and would be back. I'm sorry but that is the rudest treatment i have ever encountered and I have stayed in hundreds of places all over the world. Too bad because it is a good location and I will be coming to town at least 2 a year to see my grand baby and children. I think they should just rent out month to month and GET out of the "HOSPITALITY' business. They are surely not very good hosts!!!
Rented the Saffron condo for Memorial Day weekend. The condo was everything I had hoped it would be, clean, well maintained and convenient for my trip. There was even cereal, fruit, juice and tea or coffee for breakfast. I will stay here again on my next trip to Portland.
