Cool Creek Farm welcomes you! We are home to horses, goats, sheep, chickens, ducks and indoor/outdoor cats. The 14-acre farm is located just minutes from Shakori Hills Community Arts Center which hosts many live musical events throughout the year. The farm is convenient to Pittsboro, Siler City, Apex, Saxapahaw and Chapel Hill. But, you'll love the beautiful, peaceful setting right here too! We can accommodate horses for overnight lodging, ask for details!

The space
Enjoy the sights and sounds of the farm from your rooms, the front porch or strolling around the property (all farm animals are contained in the pastures). The rooms are comfortable, stylish and functional. Hardwood and tile floors throughout. The bathroom with glass-enclosed tub/shower combo is spacious and modern with plenty of counter space. The sitting room has a mini-fridge, toaster oven, electric teapot and french press. Fresh ground organic coffee and a selection of teas are provided for your use. Prepare your own simple meals or enjoy take out from any of the many restaurants in Pittsboro on the wooden folding tables provided. If work is a must, the sturdy folding tables make a perfect portable work station as well.

There are yard games like croquet, bocce, frisbee, hoola hoops, Speedminton and giant Jenga for use on the arena which, thanks to no light pollution, is also a great place for star-gazing. The giant swing is a must try! Unique farm to fork restaurants and live music venues abound in the area. Road biking is also popular while mountain biking trails are available within 15 minutes. We use central heat but don't use AC at Cool Creek, preferring open windows and ceiling/window fans and the sound of peepers in the evenings (the Farmhouse Garden Apt is my only listing that offers AC). All of our bedding and towels are machine-washed and line dried in the sun, so they may feel a bit different to you. Natural, scent-free laundry and cleaning products are used in the space.

Additionally, the farm is expansive with plenty of parking and inviting spaces around the fire pit and arena. If you want to have a larger outdoor gathering of family/friends during your stay, please ask for details.

Guest access
Guests have a private entrance to their bedroom, sitting room and full bathroom. These rooms for your exclusive use comprise the entire east wing of the house on the main floor. There is a solid, floor to ceiling privacy curtain in the hallway to separate guest from host space. The sitting room has a single pull-out couch to accommodate a third guest or two guests desiring separate sleep areas. Other parts of the house are not for guest use. Convenient parking is provided right beside the house. Guests can enjoy sitting on the front porch and using the bonfire/picnic and arena area as well, though these are common areas for use by all on the farm. Come and go whenever you please, but when in the space, we ask that complete quiet hours from 10:30pm to 6:30am be strictly respected as it is a shared household.

During your stay
I enjoy meeting my guests and am available in person and via text for questions but generally give guests their space.
