  • Maria Paola's Tuscan country home is as beautiful and perfect as the pictures. Beyond the listing description, you'll also find brochures, maps and recommendations from Maria Paola. She also gave us fresh local plums, yogurt and juice -so nice and such a surprise! There's simply too much to see and do - but quick and easy trips (by car) to Pisa and Firenze and the local olive and wine routes are a must. The beds are comfy and the garden with turtle lovely. Plenty of games and reading are also available if you stay in - and a small TV. A great local pizzeria and bar is a fun place to walk down to and meet the local residents. Do note that in the summer it can be quite hot - bug spray is a must to ward off mosquitos when sleeping with windows open. Roosters add to the country ambience but if you're a light sleeper, ear plugs may help ;) Overall, it's an amazing getaway.

  • My wife and I spent three nights at the Casa di Gino from May 22 to 25
Maria Paola is a charming person who has provided us with everything we needed for a great stay.
Her house is really nice, well decorated and very comfortable.
When we arrived, there was already in the fridge full of goodies to make an excelllent breakfast (and even more).
There is a terrace for sunny breakfast and a small garden to relax on a lounger after a day of sightseeing.
Thank you Maria Paola for your home, we'll probably because there are plenty of great things to do and see in your area and these 2-3 days were too short.

  • We had a great 8 night stay at Maria's place. Everything was as advertised and the location was very convenient (short drive to the supermarket, and only about 15 min to Lucca and Pisa). We were 2 couples, and found the alcove above the stairs functioned fairly well as a second bedroom... (though its really best suited for children).

Maria was a great host, and accommodated our somewhat complicated schedule very well.

  • Maria's home was a superb base for our recent trip to Tuscany and is every bit as nice as the photos suggest. The tranquil location is perfect for a relaxed break and also allows for easy day trips to Pisa, lucca, Siena and Florence by car. Maria is a kind and welcoming host and I would strongly recommend a stay at her property.

  • My friend and I chose Maria Paolo's appartment for our first stay in Tuscany and the appartment was as nice as we expected it to be. Maria Paola is a friendly host, who welcomed us at the scheduled time. She showed us the house, told us she had put some cakes and a pie for us in the kitchen (they were tasty!) and gave us some extra information about the facilities. The house is very cosy and comfortable and it has everything we needed. The bedrooms and bathroom were clean and the neighbourhood is relatively quiet. The little terrace outside is perfect for a nice glass of Chianti or a sunny breakfast. The only downside from the lovely terrace is the presence of a few annoying mosquitos, but Maria Paola provided us with enough anti-mosquito-materials to keep them away. But still, anti-itching-cream may come in handy. The turtle in the garden was a nice surprise and we enjoyed the company of a friendly neighbour cat. From the town, Lucca and Pisa are very easily reached by car, which makes the appartment a very good base to explore this part of Tuscany. We had a good time, it's a nice place! Grazie mille!

Eravamo in quattro e siamo stati molto comodi.

The weekend I passed at Maria Paola's house was extremely pleasant. We were four and the house was really comfortable. This house is beautiful, renewed and kept very well and tastefully. Moreover it is located in the peacefulness, beauties and fresh air of the Tuscany hills.
It is really close to Pisa and to the seaside and I strongly recommend it for the owner's qualities: kindness, helpfulness and care for the hosts. Features we always would like to find in the people we meet during our trips.

    Response from Maria Paola:

It should be pointed that my house does not have any particular problems with electricity: in every home in the medium-voltage electrical equipment, I think all over the world, it is normal not to be able to use two or more appliances, all my guests so far not have had no trouble understanding this, and as regards the garbage does not depend certainly by me but by the rules of the municipality where you are staying and also in this case nobody has ever reported any problem in this regard, it is just to follow some rules ..
