mores:
one of the best way to have real contact of roma trastevere. vicolo of the five is the most frequented street of trastevere, many people walk up and down from the 6pm every days. there are special shops and a lot of pub and restaurants.
in five minuts walk is possible across the river on ponte sisto, old beautiful bridge, and stay at campo de fiori... another important area of rome center.

more than 4 people like just for little party is convenient. not for sleep more than 4.
if the windows are closed no noises inside.
is very hot in the winter.

*TRASTEVERE is like the center of Rome but the fact is that the center is divided from the river and who stay left side says " we are the center" and who stay right side says " we are the center"

  • We were travelling my mother my sister and I. The flat is well situated to visit rome but it is in a very noisy Street with a lot of bars and we couldn't sleep until 4am when the bars close. I think this flat is more suitable for people who want to enjoy night life in rome but difficult if you walk all the Day long to visit and come back to rest. The flat was clean but not in a good state (sheets not very white) and bathroom would need renovation.

  • We stayed at Pietro's flat the last Friday to Monday;

we arrived on Friday midnight due to a delayed flight, and as agreed with Pietro, we went to the restaurant in front of the flat to pick the keys up. His friend Alessandro wasn't there and the other waiters didn't expect our arrival but one of them kindly gave us the keys (luckily enough!).
As nobody was expected the day of our check out, we left our suitcases in the flat while we were away in Rome; and only left the flat at 5pm (as agreed with Alessandro from the Restaurant).

We have therefore not met Pietro, another time maybe?

The flat is extremely well located in one of the best area of Rome to party and enjoy
good (and cheaper than the "centre") reasturants ( i recommend Grazia e Graziella, just a couple of meters away), plus all amenities close by (italian grocery 20 seconds away)! Perfect! Need to be aware of the Roman opening hours (9am-1pm / 4 pm to 8pm).

It is also very convenient to walk to Rome's monuments, everything being to 40min waling distance maximum, we only took the bus once during the whole length of our stay.

Flat is as described, well furnished, lots of towel etc, not huge (av 45-50m sq i'd say) and was clean. it is an historical flat, you can tell by the wooden ceiling.
However, it is NOISY as the street is very much busy; the windows are maybe double glazed and sound proof, the walls are thin. You get to hear the street noise just as if you leave the windows open. It didn't disturb us much to sleep as it gets quieter at 1am ish- time when we came home. If you like going to bed early, it is probably not the best place to stay. That's the only drawback.

The bathroom is "artistically" arranged let's say (the toilet is in the middle); ancient flats don't have a very much rectangular shape in Europe.

The flat didn't have a coffee machine (strange for an Italian house!).

Overall enjoyed our stay, would probably come back again.

Grazie Pietro e al tuo amico Alessandro.

    Ciao ciao
    Chris

  • The location of the apartmente is simply perfect! Yes, it's not the most quiet place in Rome, but if it's too loud then you simply went to bed too early!
Trastevere (location) is also the best and cheapest place to get something to eat.
We also used the Transportation Service. The Taxi picked us up at the airport and got us to the apartmente and the same back. Advisable!
You'll get the key from the restaurante next door, it was easy and uncomplicated.
The apartement was alright. We were four people and we had to put the sheets on the couch ourselves, but it was ok.
All toghether it was a great holiday and i'm glad i chose this apartment!

  • Great place to be in Rome if you love to be really in the centre of things, flat is in a rush street full of restaurants and bars so it tends to be a bit more noisy, but after two glasses of italian wine you will sleep like babies. Pietro was a great host, when there was an issue with the boiler, based on phonecall resolved everything within an hour. Absolutely recommandable!

  • Had an excellent time in Trastevere at this apartment. Yes, at night this street is very loud - busiest street in Trastevere - so no surprises..do ur research. The flat is actually quite spacious, around 600 sq ft. The couch is a sectional, very long & comfy to sleep on. It is more comfy then the sofa bed. The bedroom is also comfy & bathroom has a stand up shower. Fully furnished house with everything u need, & tons of bathroom towels & extra pillows. Pietro had excellent communication & although he was not in Rome to meet us, the owners & workers at the resto across provided the keys & were very welcoming. The AC in living room does not work but helps drown out the night noise if u have to wake up early for tours lol. If ur young & enjoy the night life this place is for u. If your older & want a quiet place, I recommend finding a hotel in a quiet part of the city. Overall, great experience!

  • Nice apartment, in a very busy neighborhood. Lots of restaurants and bars. It's a loud area, really loud, all night long. We had some issues with the shower and A/C. Other then that, the apartment was fine

  • Stayed 2 nights in Rome in early August and found apartment fantastic, Great location (though noisy at night and 40 degree heat meant we couldn't close the windows). Apartment was comfortable with loads of space for ourselves and 2 teenage girls. We've stayed many times in Rome, in both apartments and hotels, and this was the best accommodation in terms of space, value and location.

  • Me, my boyfriend, my sister, and cousin just came back from Rome yesterday. We stayed at the apartment for 5 days and 4 nights.

I would say the only thing good about this place is the location.

    1. The place has no air conditioner. We were there last week and it gets really hot in Rome in July. We called the owner and all he did was offer us something for more money. We thought that we were being cheated when even though they said they had an old fashioned AC, the AC does not work at all. The bedroom has no AC and it gets really hot. When Pietro, I think the manager of the apartment came, he was more pleasant and result oriented than the owner even though he didn't do much to improve the situation.

    2. The furniture is really old and the bed and mattresses really dirty. I travelled to many countries and been through many conditions, this place should change things if they want their guests to feel comfortable. Some of us chose to sleep on the floor because we didn't know what kinds of bugs will come out from the sofa beds.

    3. The bathroom is inside the bedroom. If you are traveling with more than two people, this is not the place to get. Every time someone wants to use the bedroom, they have to open the bedroom door and walk to the bathroom while people are sleeping. This is not really a comfortable situation.

    4. The bathroom is really dirty and designed really bad. The toilet opens into the bathtub, which itself is really small. The shower curtain doesn't keep the water in therefore the bathroom always has water on the floor.

    5. The lighting in the place is really bad. The first day two lights in the bathroom were out therefore we had to do our makeup in the kitchen using a decorative mirror, we also did our hair in the kitchen the whole time we were there because the outlets in the bathrooms did not work.

    6. The place was really dirty when we arrived and they were even wet smelly towels in the washer in the bathroom.

    7. The fridge has some leftover food and it smelled like onions when we opened it.

8 Make sure you ask for wifi in advance, even though we did not ask in advance, they still told us the router broke so we wouldn't have gotten wifi even if we asked. They give you also the wifi code for next door restaurant but the signal doesn't work in the apartment, therefore you have to be downstairs by the restaurant to get it.

  • We had a fun stay in Trastavere! Thank you Pietro :)

  • This apartment is all about location and therefore a great home base for the lively Trastevere neighborhood. Bring earplugs as the streets are full of energy all night long. This is an ideal place for those who want to be out with the crowds. Our host communicated well and check in and out was very straightforward. The pictures, descriptions, and reviews are very accurate and our expectations were met.
