Excellent rental!! The Newseum Residence couldn't be in a more convenient location to hit all the Washington sites. We went with our 8 and 9 year old boys and walked to all of the attractions including Congress, all the major monuments, the White House and the Smithsonian museums. The building is very nice, gym is adequate and they have a little lounge for morning coffee. Traveling as a family, this was an ideal and economical choice.
So, so much better than a hotel. Excellent location for meetings on the Hill AND for sightseeing, if that's what you're there for. Spotless, nicely furnished. Newer than the 2401 M property, but then you're not across the street from the super awesome Blue Duck Tavern. Nicely laid out, washer and dryer for copious baby laundry, and very quiet. Check in and out was easy and fast. loved it!
Had a great time in Washington DC for the inauguration. I booked my space early with you and originally had the NEWSEUM Residences on my confirmation. When I was informed that I would be assigned to my 3rd choice , 2400M ST NW, I was bummed out. The location is very close to Georgetown, nice area and close to Foggy Bottom. Not what I wanted when all the action was on the other end of town but after arriving not the worst location in DC that's for sure.
That being said, I was not impressed with the facility itself. The week day concierge was great. The folks on the weekend left a lot to be desired. With 4 of us in the room, we were issued one one key and one "FOB" to access the apartment. The desk concierge on weekends insisted that there were no additional keys contrary to what we were told. Consequently if we went separate ways we had to arrange to get back at the same time. The room had very few dishes, glasses etc and only one frying pan. The rug was FILTHY and had burn marks from somebody ironing on the floor. The heating duct had a half inch of dust on it and in general the bathrooms were not clean with mildew on shower curtains and stained fixtures.
Lights did not work and when we tried to use the switches to turn on lights, they didn't operate, plugged into the wrong receptacle that activated switch. The toaster was busted and created a smoke bomb on the first and only time we used it. The alarm clock did not work, either the radio or the alarm section and we couldn't reset the time so we spent the entire visit with the clocks one hour fast!
We paid a RIDICULOUS amount for this condo because of it being an event weekend. I expected a whole lot more than what I got for my Friday to Tuesday stay at $3300!!!! It will be a while before I think about trying this again with AIRBNB as the value to cost ratio was not worth it as far as accomodations were concerned.
We had two of our staff members from Spain in for meetings, and they stayed at Seamless Transition's apt for 4 days. They were very comfortable in the space and loved the location. Thank you so much for making their trip so much more relaxing and enjoyable.
Needed to sleep my family of five comfortably for a week. The price was fair and the accommodations were great. Clean, new, near everything. Great views on the roof at night and many places to eat. Would definitely recommend Residences at the Newseum.
Two drawbacks for consideration. Parking is terrible. Don't rent a car. It's a waste and from my twelve year: would have been perfect if there was a pool.
