My parents stayed in Yuky's house for 3 days. It was a nice experience, the house was very clean, they had towels, hitting and comfortable beds. It is also good located, easy to access the different touristic places. It is calm and nice neighborhood. The only negative thing is that the house is situated underground, so you don't have much light and it's a bit humid. Overall, nice experience, thanks Yuky!
Thank you for the stay in Istanbul. Met Yuksel's friend Orion instead on arrival and he was really nice and friendly explained to us about the place and kindly offered map showed us around places to visits and eateries which was extremely useful. The apartment was nice but there was only one problem with the toilet and leaking bathtub therefore made it a slightly unpleasant stay. Contacted Yuksel and he got in touch with me swiftly as well but unfortunately that was a weekend therefore no one could repair the drainage system and remained unsolved.
Very central location. Nice backyard. Yuksel and his friend Orion are very nice and welcoming. A bit dark and humid, which is good, so you have further motivations to leave the house and get immersed into the city!
Clean and very comfortable place. Really close to the metro station
We stayed in this flat for 4 nights.
It was very pratical, we found this was a great location. The neighbouroud is lively, with food shops, bakerys... Taksim is at a walking distance, and to go further away, the subway station is only a few minutes away.
The flat in itself basically provided everything we needed. Staying in Istanbul, we spend most our time outside, but it was good to rest in this apartment. We did appreciate to have more space than in a hotel room, and it was clean and cheap.
We were unsure about how to meet Yuksel on our arrival, but we finally were welcomed by his friend Orion, who was really helpfull. Yuksel was helpfull when we left as well!
We do recommend this place to stay in Istanbul !!
A nice a quiet place in buzzing Istanbul and a good value for money. The area is really nice, not crowded with Tourists but still very well connected, thanks to the excellent subway. Not a lot of natural light but a cute navy-themed decor and a terrace/garden (with 5 curious cats). The bed was really clean and comfortable and the rest of the place cosy and fairly clean. Kitchen and bathroom was ok but the terrace did need a bit of cleaning to actually be inviting to hang out on. Anyway, since Istanbul is so overwhelming and there's so much to see/do and so many great places to eat, you don't really see much of the flat. Wake up, shower, head out and by the time you're back you'll head straight to bed, happy and exhausted.
For us the actual highlight of renting this place was Yuksel's charming friend Orion, who pick us up at the tube-station, showed us the flat and more importantly really took his time to give us heaps of insider tips about Istanbul. Everything from markets and restaurants to cool areas to check out, things not to miss and the DOs and DON'Ts of Turkish society. Thanks a million Orion, you really improved our stay!
Warmest regards from Berlin,
David & Inés
We met Yuksel's friend Osman, near to the flat. He's a friendly and helpfull guy. The pics are really good in the ad. The flat is comfortable for two. The flat is a little dark because it is under street floor and the light only cames from one window and a door from the garden side, but who cares, You don't wanna seat in a flat when You are in Istanbul :) The kitchen is equiped and there are guide books and maps (we only see the maps at the last day) to the flat to use. If You want to stay 2-3 days in the city Yuskel's flat is not a bad choice.
Yuksel is a very nice host who you can always ask for help if it´s necessary. We had a nice time in his apartment. It´s really nice decorated and good located. There are many small shops and places to eat nearby. It´s only one stop to taksim by metro.
