About This Listing
Sweet Spot! A blend of classic style and contemporary cool makes this a magical NC escape in the heart of Raleigh! Second-floor condo with hardwood floors is a charming 1BR/1BA in Raleigh's Cameron Village, perfect for a single traveler or a couple.
Cozy condo has just what you need for a relaxing stay! Completely Private - Not a Home Share.
I now have a small TV that gets a few channels and has an attached DVD player! Usually, NETGEAR works to connect to the Internet without a password but I do not have a dedicated account.
Great coffee shops and fine or casual dining options are within a short walk in Cameron Village -- or, enjoy the Glenwood South restaurant scene. Fun shopping in Cameron Village or venture out to North Hills or Crabtree Mall. Grab the Caniac Bus at Cameron Village and go see Canes Hockey! ACC Sports are an easy drive from Raleigh! Fletcher Park is a large park across the street, great for a stroll!
Interaction with Guests
You'll have your privacy! Call me if you need anything but otherwise, the place is yours to enjoy! Homeowners' Association responds 24/7 to any maintenance emergency. Have hosted a number of happy guests in my place -- hope you'll be next!
The Cameron Village area has long been one of Raleigh's best! Updated shops and restaurants keep the area vibrant and ever-changing. Plenty of people of all ages dining at open-air sidewalk cafes and strolling through the shops.
A Parking Space is dedicated to the Condo if you arrive by car. If you fly in and don't have a rental, Triangle Transit is a fun way to get downtown or anywhere else in the area. Cabs or car services can be called by phone. Easy walking to many spots and to the large Fletcher Park across the street.
Other Things to Note
Condo is at the top of a flight of stairs and an elevator is not available. Condo has a great feel to it with original hardwood floors and nice furnishings. Brand new appliances, granite and beautiful cabinetry in the kitchen area - just enough kitchen for a simple meal. Pet friendly!
Please no smoking. Part of the charm is hard-wood floors in the staircase and in the Condo but please take care to walk softly to avoid noise for the residents below. Please be quiet :)
View of Entryway from the Bedroom; Condo is freshly painted throughout with original hardwood flooring.
We loved staying at Joy's place. The location is central to everything we wanted to do. Nothing was more than 10 miles away. The place is small but very cozy and homey.
Joy allowed us to bring our dog which makes vacations for us less stressful since we're not worrying about him at home with a pet sitter.
We ate several meals at Cameron Village and all were great a priced affordably. If there on a Saturday, make sure you go to the Farmer's Market. We bought items to make a salad to go with our dinner that night.
The only downside is the fridge is more of a drink fridge with no freezer and no ice maker. But still not a big deal.
Would stay again if in Raleigh.
The Good: The condo was neat, clean, and tastefully decorated.
The Bad: We did not think to consider that when the host asked that we tread lightly so as not to disturb the neighbors, that meant the neighbors could also disturb us. My bf and I were in town for a triathlon, and had to awaken at 3am. We went to bed early, and at around 9pm, neighbors came home, and it was so loud, I actually thought someone had entered the condo. We fell back asleep, and were awakened again at 11pm with the same neighbors engaged in a domestic dispute which continued for about half an hour.
Bottom Line: This condo itself was nice. Great price for Raleigh. If you are a light sleeper, or absolutely need sleep for your travel purposes, this is not the place for you.
Kianna - I do hope your triathalon was a great experience (wow!). I am sorry you were disturbed - my neighbors Jay and Hana are young-ish professionals and have always been respectful and quiet neighbors but I suppose on any given night ... I suppose even hotel travelers can be disturbed on an unlucky night. I've never had a concern voiced about Jay & Hana and again, sorry they were overheard. Kudos on the triathalon and thanks for your understanding. Joy
Joy made the logistics quick and easy with all needed information on getting there, getting the key, and apartment details like heating/cooling and lights explained clearly. She was also conscious of her neighbors asking us as guests to be mindful of how loud we were being which I thought very nice. The neighborhood was lovely and a quick drive to downtown. The apartment is small, but it worked well for our needs as we weren't spending much time in the apartment. The only suggestion is that internet be added as this is a standard I think many expect these days. Overall it was great for our needs that weekend.
Joy's condo was gorgeous and I can tell she has a very intuitive decorating sense. While we never met her, we effortlessly felt right at home. The furniture, wood floors, super luxurious bed-- the entire place was designed to be as comfy as possible. The area is in a quiet, beautiful, and central location. It was also super nice to wake up and have a cup of coffee from the Keurig. The pantry was stocked with everything I needed for a perfect cup to-go too! Very thoughtful host and a very elegant condo-- I would definitely recommend this place if you're in Raleigh. Thanks Joy!! :)
This was a wonderful stay! Joy's home was comfortable, beautiful, and centrally located. She left us detailed directions on how to get to the apartment as well as how to find everything once we were there. There were towels and soap left out for us, and the entire stay was very welcoming and easy. Also, the park across the street was incredibly serene and pretty, and we enjoyed a sunset walk checking it out. Thank you, Joy!
Wonderful 1 bedroom apartment! Joy is great to work with and made the process easy and flexible. Joy's home is well appointed, comfortable, very clean and in a lovely quiet neighborhood only 5-7 minutes drive to downtown. We only wish we had been in Raleigh with more time to explore the park across the street. We would stay here again!
