The Space

Wonderfully located and furnished apartments with stunning views of tuscan hills.
Private hillside pool (summer only) that dominates the valley. Private lake and incredible trails in the woods. Charme and relax guaranteed.

15 minutes from the sea-side and a step away from top Italian cuisine and wine tasting opportunities, apartment Veronica and apartment Alex are private small and romantic locations that lie in my property, next to the main villa where me and my family live most of the year. The views here are simply stunning, the air is calm and the only noise you will hear could be a deer at night getting closer to get a drink by our lake. I work in the property myself, and I have done all the best into turning this property into a little gem inside the tuscan hills, in an area called Alta Maremma. We have our crops, our vineyards and soon enough we will get our own horses running around.

Both apartments have incredible views and will have a private external gazebo which is being built now (you will not see it in the pictures yet, but you will see the views you get from the apartments). Air conditioning, kitchen amenities, electric heating are standard.
Both apartments have a living room with a kitchen corner and a sofa that turns into a double bed, a main bedroom and a bathroom with a shower. Table is for four. External table for four too. Kitchens have a four piece gas stove, a dishwasher and a small electric oven. Washing machine is outside and in common with the other apartment. We supply linens and towels for a party of four. Extra towels and pool towels should be brought by you. Our rooms are non-smoking but you can enjoy your cigar on your private patio, so don’t worry.

Our location is very strategic, since we lie between the sea and the inner hills of the Tuscan Maremma. Some of the things you could do within a 15 minute drive (yes, a car is needed, we are not in NY) are:
Dine with some of the best seafood in Italy in San Vincenzo, where a couple of starred Michelin restaurants lie just on the beaches, making dining a most romantic and wonderful experience.
Dine in many different restaurants (from luxury to rural), where you can taste specialties like wild - hog and tortelli maremmani.
Go wine tasting and get the chance to try His-Majesty-The -King-Of-All-Wines Sassicaia, mentioned in a dozen of Hollywood films. The podere of San Guido where Sassicaia is Made is only 12 km away. Many other award winning wine makers lie around the whole area, known as Bolgheri DOC.
Visit Sassetta, our nearby medieval town with it’s alleys and friendly people, and why not visit just some 4 or 5 medieval towns just a jump away.
Go for some sunbathing on our wonderful beaches including Baratti, a small and beautiful gulf surrounded by Sea Pines and dominated by the town of Populonia, dating seven centuries before Christ.

Not enough? Jump in your car and drive:
40 minutes to get to Livorno.
30 minutes + ferry to get to Elba island, best place in Italy for scuba diving and snorkeling.
1 hour to enjoy Pisa.
1 hour for Siena.
1 1\2 hour for Florence.
Many other places to see and things to do, as summer time (especially) livens up with Town Festivals all over the place.

Don’t want to move?
Enjoy our private property trails to go hiking and pick up some mushrooms (avoid the toxic ones though...)or stop and relax by our waterfalls.
Dive in our pool, and get a drink from our poolside house.
Pick up some of our crops by yourself, such as natural zucchini, eggplants, tomatoes, pepperoni, basil, etc... and start cooking.
Read a book in 3D scenery.
Enjoy sunset by our lake or take a walk in our vineyards.

It will be my pleasure to have you as a guest, because the first time I saw this place it kidnapped me from Milan and I started to restore it. Sharing my efforts with other people and seeing them happy and enjoying a wonderful time in Tuscany is the best I can ask for.

Everything about this place is perfect ! The apartment is great and landscapes all around are just breathtaking. If you're looking for a relaxing but yet cultural destination, you just found it : you can read by the pool, take a walk inside the huge property or drive to some of Italy's most gorgeous cities in less than 2 hours. Salvatore is a really warm and helpful host and I can assure you that it's impossible not to immediately love Tuscany :-) We definitely look forward to coming back next year !

  • Our experience with Salvatorre was great and we wish the pool would have been open but the scenery is breathtaking. The apartment is great and VERY secluded so if you want to get away and get unplugged, this is what you are looking for. You definitely need to have a car to get to his place but once you are there it is beautiful. Salvatore gave us a great tour of his land and the winery. He gave us some wine from his vineyard and some eggs from his chickens. There are a lot of great towns nearby but be prepared for some curvy roads. I would definitely plan a trip to Bolgheri as it is a great little town 30 minutes away.

  • I spent three nights at Sal’s place with my girlfriend and parents and we had an incredible time. To start, the property is breath taking. You drive about a mile on Sal’s private road to get to his property, where you have an amazing view that you can fully enjoy at all hours out on the cottage’s private veranda. Sal has a beautiful house and pool, which is accessible for guests, goats, chickens, rabbits, ducks, a lake, an olive field, a wine field, and land which you can hike and wander through where you will discover trickling streams, beautiful flowers and long-grass meadows. The cottage itself is also beautiful; with hand carved stone sinks and beautifully restored walls. It was perfect for four people and we felt very comfortable there. Sal was a gracious and generous host; we had the chance to have two meals with him and enjoyed the conversation and time we spent with him. The nearby town, Sasseta, is very quaint and peaceful. We dined there once and also picked up groceries to take to the cottage. I would highly recommend staying at Sal’s place, my family and I already have plans to go back. You will have an authentic, peaceful and adventurous time, and you will have an opportunity to taste and smell the real Tuscany.

  • I had an amazing week at Salvatore's in Tuscany. The property is even more beautiful than in the photos, and the villas are modern in a traditional style, and very clean and well equipped. We picked fresh vegetables and fruit every day, and Salvatore gave us fresh eggs from his chickens, and some bottles of wine from his vineyard. I would highly recommend staying here if you want a great holiday slightly off the beaten track! (In saying that, everywhere was easily reachable by car - but you definitely do need a car!)
    Thank you so much Salvatore!

  • We had an amazing, and very relaxed stay at Salvatore's place. The apartment was perfect, and clean, has a great pool, and amazing views. Salvatore recommend some great restaurants, and even gave us vegetables from his garden.

It is located in the mountains, and the closest village is a 10 minute drive. Getting to the Tuscan beach will probably take you 20 minutes by car, and you will always have to negotiate some winding mountain roads - but that is half the fun.

I can definitely recommend the place for a Tuscan holiday - the apartment is not massive, but well furnished and well looked after.

  • That was really amazing vacation we spent in Tuscany.

    1) First of all about owners. Salvatore and his wife Pina made everything to make our stay in their property WONDERFUL and AMAZING, and we still have a lot of to do there. They always help and suggest the best to curious tourists (the kind we are). Absolutely everything in Apartment Veronica (and in the whole property at all) made for your comfort and you can feel that owners put their soul in every detail. This is not fast made "touristic property", this is really good made, well-equipped (thank you for dishwasher!!), authentic tuscan house and surroundings. To have every day breakfast outdoor with the view of hills and mountains of Tuscany - it is never-to-be-forgotten.

    2) The property itself.
Imagine pool in a 5 star hotel, but without hundreds of tourists. That kind of pool Salvatore have in his property. Clean water, jacuzzi and bird's-eye view to tuscanian mountains and valleys. Absolutely everything in property is well-made and new, Salvatore and his wife planned everything for themselves, so once again it is not "ikea style apartments for tourists". Real tuscanian tenuta :)
Barbeque space, sunbeds, outdoor tables, own lake with fish and ducks, kitchen-garden, forest, valleys, goats etc. etc. etc. Everything is amazing, and you could use it together with other guests and owners.
In a house build from stones is a conditioner, but we did not used it ever - as it is very cool inside the house (even if the temp outside is 32 degree all day). Dishwasher, microvawe oven, beds - everything as described, no "bad surprises". All looks like new and "never used". Мosquito nets on each window and door helped us a lot.

Air and views - it is something that we cannot describe. You should see and try it yourself.

    3) Our goal on this vacation was to explore real Tuscany. We are very happy that we have stayed in Salvatore's property. As it made 70% of our goal. Real italian people, real tuscanian countryside, real tuscanian surroundings, real tuscanian house, real tuscanian products and food. Seaside btw is 15 min away by car, so it was very easy to get there. And you always have the quite place to return from loud beach area.

Thank you once again Salvatore and Pina for this great time we spent in your place!

About
Former Businessman in Detroit and then in Milan, Tuscany has become my passion. I look forward to having many guests to enjoy my property, along with it's beautiful scenery and relaxing opportunities. After all I left the mess for this reason in the first place. In love with a new rural way of life, it is never too late to start a new life.
