Historic Garden Court off Hawthorne

Apartment - Entire home/apt · Southeast 25th Avenue, Portland, OR 97214, United States

Super cute and charming furnished flat just off SE Hawthorne at SE 25th. 30 day min. stay

The Space

Charming 1 bedroom in a 1920's stucco Mediterranean garden court near Hawthorne available monthly for extended stay.

Historic and hip, with great light, refinished hardwood floors, newer quality furnishings. Remodeled kitchen & bath, back porch, with patio water feature and gardens.

One of the nicest furnished flats in the area. Recently remodeled and updated with quality furnishings. The living room has great east light with 5-foot front windows that look out over the front garden and across 25th to the Dharma Rain Zen Center while the kitchen’s nook seating faces west into the inner courtyard.

The living room has a classic feel with plum reverse camel back sofa facing a mission style oak armoire with a very nice all wool thick twisted rug between them along with nice tables and art. The armoire also houses the stereo, Internet, and 32" LED TV. There is a plug in from the stereo for listening to an iPod or similar device for music and it receives local digital stations for watching TV.

The kitchen overlooks a garden area and has a quiet sheltered courtyard with bubbling water feature and rustic pergola. It has been upgraded extensively in the last year with new custom cabinets built to match the 1920 originals, as well as retro countertops, a new full sized fridge, new microwave, All-Clad pan set, Blanco stainless sink, Grohe faucet, and a very distinct marmoleum floor. The kitchen is also very well stocked and ready to use with spice rack, oil & vinegar, sugar, OXO utensils, quality knifes, glass bowls, cookie sheet, cutting board, French press, etc.

The bath is clean and cute pedestal and quality fixtures including hand made replica of the original medicine cabinet. There is also a bathtub and a tile shower. The bedroom is cozy and quiet (situated on the backside near the courtyard and the sound of the water feature) and it has a new hardwood bed frame, a locally made queen foam & wool mattress, and 400+ thread count cotton sheets. Also has a clean coin op laundry located just outside back door.

This sits on the edge of Buckman neighborhood just north of SE Hawthorne and Ladd's addition. Essentially sandwiched between two of Portland's best neighborhoods. The famous Grand Central bakery and Jam on Hawthorne are both within 2 short blocks. Very hard to beat. The apartment is located on a bike route and there is plenty of ez parking right out front steps from front door. Very safe and quiet.

  • We spent a delightful 2 weeks in this adorable apartment. Newly decorated place, very comfortable, clean, and in a great location. It was the perfect home from home. Jim Miller was an attentive and responsive host. If we ever go back to Portland we'll stay there again for sure. What a great first experience with airbnb!

Rebecca and I love the outdoors and spend time between the great Northwest and our sunny winter cabin in the San Jacinto mountains of Idyllwild, CA. Rebecca is a very skilled veterinarian, gardener, cook and bread maker. And I'm a carpenter with a flair for historic home restoration and interior design. On our days off you'll often find us mountain biking, hiking, or cross country skiing with our two dogs happily running along beside us.
