Interaction with Guests
Clint and I work full time during the week, so we may not be around for the initial meet and greet, but we will leave instructions on how to get in to the house if that is the case. Our dog Miko is very friendly and typically does the greeting if we are not around, so it is a plus if you are a dog lover :). If we are around during your stay, we are open to interacting with you as much or as little as you would like! We are always up for helping out with travel plans or suggestions as we've lived in this area for over 15 years now and love sharing it with others. :)
There are a couple of bus stops that are walking distance to our house. The bus routes can take you downtown or all the way to the beach. If you rent a car, there is plenty of free street parking.
Kristi and Clint were really welcoming and made my girlfriend and I feel very at home. Miko is the friendliest dog ever, and the breakfast and coffee in the morning was really nice. It was Valentine's day and there were even roses in our room. The listing description was accurate (especially the amazing backyard) and the neighborhood was very convenient. Close enough to everything we wanted to see, but quiet enough for easy parking and a good night's sleep. I'd love to stay with them again if I come back to SLO.
My best friend and I were planning to recreate a memorable road trip from LA to SF along PCH through Big Sur and knew we wanted to make a stop overnight in San Luis Obispo, based on past experience and recommendations from our parents. Upon reviewing the available spots on AirBnb, we found the cost of many lodgings prohibitive and worried we wouldn't be able to stay as planned. Luckily, we stumbled upon Kristi and Clint's warm and comfy home. From the moment we contacted them, we knew we had made a good choice. They responded enthusiastically and sincerely, making us feel welcome and excited about our trip. They helped us get there safely, which is important, as both my friend and I cannot navigate ourselves out of a paper bag. We were greeted by our human hosts and their lovely canine counterpart, Miko, a sweet and affectionate rescue. Their home is inviting and cozy. The little touches they made are what leave a lasting impression: genuine smile upon meeting, a chalkboard with a welcome note, fresh-cut roses in our room, keys and snacks with labels, remotes with instructions, etc. All represent conscientiousness and care. We were given some great restaurant recommendations and were not disappointed. After a long day of driving, sandwiches and fries at Firestone hit the spot. We spent the night in a luxurious and soft bed and awakened with a hot, refreshing shower. Please note, blind-as-a-bat me, I struggled with the shower cord and probably woke up the house with my banging and clanging around. Kristi promptly jumped to my rescue, likely interrupting her own sleep. Imagine our (pleasant) surprise when walking into the kitchen, we found ourselves presented with a delicious and healthy breakfast, perfect to start another day on the road. Yogurt in several flavors, a variety of fresh fruit, coffee, and tea. Certainly not second to that was the relaxed and truly helpful conversation. Clint and Kristi helped us plan out the rest of our travels and included must-see hidden gems. A brief nature respite in their backyard garden didn't hurt either. Shortly thereafter, we were on our way. We will always remember and be grateful for the hospitality of our hosts. Their effort was clear and impressive. Hopefully we were able to provide them some new fun company as well. Experiences like this restore your faith and enjoyment in people and serve only to enhance whatever your journey may be. I hope we get a chance to meet again and confidently recommend Kristi and Clint without reservation. Happy travels :)
The room was just as described, cozy and inviting, The Garden was lovely as well. Their home is in a residential neighborhood near a lot of shopping and not far from downtown SLO.
We absolutely loved staying with Kristi, Clint and Miko. They were very friendly, helped us plan our 2 days in the area, entertained a million queries we had about everything and made us feel at home.
The room had everything we needed, the bed was very comfortable and their secret garden was a great surprise. We still think about those delicious homegrown tangerines!
They have this sweet dog, Miko, who is always very happy to get attention but will also leave you alone if you don't engage. The perfect dog.
We strongly recommend Kristi and Clint to anyone visiting SLO or nearby beaches and various other attractions. You are sure to both enjoy your stay and make the most of it when staying with them.
Our room was very comfy and the hosts were very friendly and accommodating. They have the cutest little dog that greats you each time you come in the door making it feel like home :) definitely would stay here again next time we are in SLO.
Thanks to Kristi & Clint, we had a cozy & restful night after rolling into town and deciding to try Air B&B! They were very welcoming, even with 45 min notice. Lovely home, offered coffee & snacks, cozy room & bath. Their back yard is awesome! Great for mornings in the summer. Very friendly couple & Miko is an adorable dog. Much gratitude to you both!
Kristi and Clint live in a nice little neighborhood that's close to everything - groceries (incl wholefoods), pharmacy, etc. are a minute away, and the trails at Irish Hills are another minute away. Downtown is about a 5-8 minute drive, and the coast is 15 minutes. It's a great spot, and a comfortable house they share with their friendly dog!
The room was clean and comfortable, and they were extremely welcoming, letting us use the kitchen / common living spaces. You are definitely sharing the house, versus some other AirBnB's I've stayed at with a bit more privacy, but Kristi and Clint are very nice so it's never a problem.
We currently live on the central coast of California with our adorable dog, Miko. Clint has a real estate business and I work for a health and wellness software company. Traveling is one of our passions, as is meeting new people and exploring new places! We love to be outdoors and active and enjoy sports such as kiteboarding, hiking, mountain biking, yoga, volleyball and more.
As hosts, we strive to make your stay a comfortable one. We enjoy socializing when we are free to do so and are extremely open to helping plan your trip or vacation in or around the central coast. We have lived here for over 15 years and love sharing the area with fellow travel enthusiasts ;) We are very excited to meet you!
