The Space

My home is full of positive energy with a nice relaxing and comfortable ambiance. The home is pretty spacious for everyone to find their own private space to hang out in. Although this room is quite small but cozy, the bed is extremely comfortable. If all you need is a place to get a good rest this room is perfect. It also shares one bathroom.

My home is also walking distance to a hip little area of local farmers markets, coffee shops, bars and boutiques. A public bus stop is right around the corner as well. I am in the center of every major point: 11 miles from the International airport, 3.8 miles from the Amway Center and Downtown Orlando, 1.6 miles from the Orlando Museum of Art, 2.9 miles from Rollins College and Winter Park, 12 miles from Universal Studios, 15 miles from the Convention Center, 18-25 miles from Disney properties, and 14 miles from University of Central Florida/UCF.

Guest Access

You can make yourself feel right at home. You have access to all of the home(except the downstairs living room). I have free wi-fi and there is free parking on the property on the side of the house on cole st. I may also have bikes for rental.

Interaction with Guests

Whenever I have free time to just sit and relax, I love mingling and chatting with my guests. Sometimes we just sit and have a beer or coffee. Other times if we are all busy we get to briefly say hi and go about our day. Every experience is different but everyone always enjoys it.

The Neighborhood

I live near an elementary school and it is a safe, quiet family area. Lots of locals are out and about riding bikes and with their families during the day. It is a very pleasant neighborhood.

Getting Around

The best way to get around Orlando is of course by car. But if for some reason renting a car is not an option for you, there is also UBER and LYFT as long as you have a smart phone and have the downloaded apps. They usually charge around 1.15 per mile plus tip. UBER is more for international travelers and LYFT is for US residents or those who have a US number.

I also run a shuttle service between 7am and 10:00pm around my work schedule for $1.00 a mile to most places and set prices for main attractions. You just need to arrange times with me beforehand to make sure I am available. $15.00 for the airport or Universal each way; 25.00 for Magic kingdom each way. These are cheaper than Uber prices. Also the parks cost $20.00 a day to park a car.

Uber is restricted from picking up from the airport. Taxis or the super shuttle online are the only options. A taxi cost 41.00 and the shuttle costs 20.00. The airport is only 12 miles from my home so if you arrange a pick up with me and if fits my schedule, I charge $15.00.

Orlando is very spread out and most of the main attractions are about a 30 minute drive from each other. Plus, the traffic during rush hour can be problematic.

Universal Studios and International drive are the most central locations to almost all of the theme parks and shopping. Our home is only 12 miles from this central location and very easy to get to directly.

I also have a jeep available for rent "ONLY" through Turo found online, (this is so their insurance covers the vehicle):

1) Jeep is for rent between $25.00-$30.00 a day (depending on the season), $185- $200 a week, and $500-$800 a month.

Orlando has an inexpensive bus system, Lynx. However, it is very slow and unfortunately not the smoothest mode of transportation. You can find the bus routes and schedules online. Just lookup Lynx bus Orlando or golynx.

House Rules
Check-in is after 5PM

I usually have the house quiet by 10:30 pm, although a late arrival is fine. Just be mindful that guests may be sleeping. Please try not to take showers or cook after 10:30 since other guests may be sleeping.

I like to keep the home as clean as possible so I ask all guests to clean their own dishes and wipe down areas after each use. I have a no shoes policy and ask for you to keep your shoes off inside, but you can bring indoor only house slippers or flip flops to wear.

Please do not eat or drink anything other than water in the rooms. I have plenty of dinning areas inside and outside that people can use. This is also a great way to meet other travelers and swap stories of your adventures.

There is one bathroom being shared on the premises as of right now. Please be mindful of the other guests and try to limit your use to 15 minutes. :) A second bathroom is currently under construction and should be done soon. My contractor works on it from 11-6 or a little later if guests are not around. So the house could be a little noisy during these hours. I'll update the page when it is complete.

I have colored rags in the bathroom available for ladies to remove make-up with. Please do not use the white towels provided since mascara doesn't even come out with bleach.

The laundry facility is available upon request for a small fee of $5.00 a load for the wash and dryer to help pay for soap, water, and electric usage.

No guest animals allowed unless prior arrangements have been made.

I am currently a real estate agent with Florida Property LLC and specialize in international investments, short term vacation rentals, commercial property and general residential. I resigned from the OCPS school district in 2014 where I taught middle school kids for 8 years. I then took a 1 yr. sabbatical to Germany where I was a publishing editor for the University of Heidelberg and studied linguistics. As of October I returned to transition into a new career path. I'm now loving the adult entrepreneurial world with my multiple businesses and real estate. Please feel free to contact me if you would like to see any properties in the area or if you are looking to invest.

As for my Happy Home, it tends to make guests feel welcomed like they are visiting a friend's. It is a warm and comfortable environment with a tranquil vibe, perfect for recharging after a long day.

My home is in a lovely, quaint little neighborhood, walking distance from hip coffee shops, boutiques, restaurants and bars. We are only 4 miles from downtown Orlando, and 4 miles from downtown Winter Park, where there are tons of places to walk or bike around and see. We are 12 miles from Universal Studios, and 24 miles to Walt Disney World Magic Kingdom. It is 12 miles from the airport(MCO) which by car should take you about 20 minutes depending on traffic. By bus it can be much longer. It is better to get around by car in Orlando.

As for the accommodations and prices, your stay includes a private bedroom, shared bathroom, queen bed, internet access, shared community areas and full kitchen. Towels and sheets included.
Laundry use is an extra 5.00.

If you have any questions or concerns about any of the prices, accommodations or area, please feel free to ask.

When you book, you will receive a welcome message explaining details on how to check in and a few house rules.

The best way to get around Orlando is most DEFINITELY BY CAR. We do have a bus system but it is very slow and only runs on the hour. If renting a car is not an option for you, we highly recommend using UBER and LYFT. UBER is for international travelers, and LYFT for those who have a US zip code and credit card. These are both apps that you can download on a smart phone.

I also have a jeep to rent through (URL HIDDEN) It takes a few days to send paperwork and get approved as a driver so you should start the process early if you plan on renting.
