  • My wife and I stayed at Donna's beautiful home in June 25,26/2014. She is a very lovely and very accommodating host. Her home is beautiful. We arrived by motorcycle and Dennis her handy jack of all trades helped us out with our trailer and made sure we had enough parking space to manoeuvre our bike. Her place is beautiful and very quiet and relaxing. She made sure we had enough towels and anything that we needed she was more than willing to get for us. Her beautiful kitchen was made available for us. Dennis made sure the coffee pot was full each day. Each night we had a camp fire and she had marshmallows and roasting sticks ready for us! Totally not expecting that and it was a real treat. The bedroom was comfortable with a TV and washroom close by. Had a great nights sleep both nights. We spent our days at the Grend Bend beach area which is just about 10 min into the town. Best beach we have seen in Ontario so far. Very clean and quaint little town. The Pineary Conservation park is just right beside Donna's place if we wanted to go to the park for the day as well. Donna's place is central to everything and very restful. If you decide to spend your time at Donna's place you will not be disappointed. Awesome!

  • The weekend stay was amazing. Donna is a great host. Very tranquil. To add to it, the beaches are amazing. Proximity to Pinery provincial park is a big plus.

  • Donna's house was perfect for our family get together. Everything you need is there, it is very comfortable, and there is lots and lots of room. Although we were there in unfavorable weather it was plain to see that the garden and patios would be marvelous too. Having the town and beach so close is great and convenient, but is far enough away to be very relaxing and quiet.

Donna was a very helpful and accommodating host - and made us feel very welcome. I would happily stay here again, and would recommend the retreat highly.

  • My wife and two small children (14 mos old) stayed here with another couple and their baby (9 mos old). It was fantastic. The house is spacious, well-equipped with all the conveniences you could ask for, and the front and back yards are lovely. Donna was very friendly and provided a range of helpful information about the house and the surrounding area. She made sure we knew before booking that there were no baby cribs in the house and that it wasn't perfectly childproofed. But that wasn't a problem (nor was it an expectation on our part); we brought along pack-n-play cribs and made sure to watch the kids around the stairway, etc. All in all, it was incredibly easy just to arrive, settle in for a couple days, and then pack up and go at the end of the weekend. We would definitely go back.

  • Donna is a wonderful hostess, she made sure my friends and I had everything we needed from firewood and tiki torches for the huge backyard to cooking pots of every variety imaginable. With laundry, bbq, numerous places to relax outside and in, the cottage felt more like a home away from home. Our stay was a little too comfortable-we didn't want to leave. Grand Bend is an awesome town to visit, the beaches are wonderful and the lake produces some big waves! Highly recommend.

My friends and Family had a brilliant time staying there over New Years Eve. The Cottage has everything you could need or want.
    Thank you Donna!

  • We all absolutely loved the house, and our stay in Grand Bend, even though it was the off season. It was the perfect place for us all to read, relax and get some writing done. Donna was a fantastic host, and supplied us with more than enough amenities. Would stay again if the opportunity arrises.

  • A fantastic place to stay - we rented Donna's house for a weekend in the middle of a two week tour around south-western Ontario. The house is amazing - very spacious and comfortable with everything you need to feel at home.
