Interaction with Guests
We always try our best to be home when you arrive. We are busy people, and on the weekends we like to be home and have friends over most Saturday nights. If you catch us at a less busy time, we love to get to know our guests! We use airbnb when we travel, and we know how great it is to have a local's insight into the area. We're here to help make your visit to Columbia as great as possible!
We love hosting and have hosted over a hundred people and have 70 positive reviews from our old house. We moved to our new home here in White Rock/Chapin in December 2013.
Our neighborhood has around 20 families, and tons of land. We love that while our neighborhood is rural and quiet, we're still just a hop, skip, and a jump away from "civilization," from all the stores you'll need :)
Just down the road a couple minutes is a Walmart, many fast food and pizza places and a good 50's burger joint, Highway 55. Also, our favorite local Mexican place, El Poblano has really fresh and quality ingredients and is super close to the house. There is also a very nice locally owned Italian place that would be a good date place just up the road.
You'll need a car to get around...
We will do our best to be home when you arrive although it is not always possible. We will give you instructions about the key in case we're not available. We have two cats, the white one (Jessie) and the black one (Kevin) are indoor/outdoor cats. Jessie is not very friendly. Kevin is friendly but skiddish with loud noises or voices.
Please no smoking in or near the house. We've had problems in the past with ashes left in the trashcan and strong lingering smells because of that. Thank you!
Let us know if you need anything, and the coffee and tea are self-serve. We only have a french press, so let us know if you need assistance with how to use it or the electric kettle. You can just put your used dishes in the sink or the dishwasher if they are dirty.
Please treat everything and everyone with respect while you are with us, and if you need anything, please ask. Make yourself at home, truly!
Corrie and Daniel were friendly hosts. The space was as depicted, very well decorated and comfortable. The cats were nice and we enjoyed the wooded location. Thanks again for having us!
We arrived late at Daniel's and Corrie's place. Nevertheless we were offered a very warm welcome. It was just great as the two of them made us immediately feel relaxed and at home. The room was cosy and everything very nice. Especially the personal welcome message was great. Really enjoyed our stay.
Daniel and Corrie have a gorgeous home in a perfect setting for anyone wanting to experience the true beauty of South Carolina countryside. I was only there a couple nights, but felt at home. The little touches in the room (especially the fresh flowers and collections from their world travels) were inspiring. I will stay with them again or refer others to when they visit.
The ranch-style cozy cabin is settle among trees on a small somewhat private road, with a neighbor's pond abutting the backyard. I personally loved the decor because of the reuse and repurposing of used woods. The couple were great, they had many amenities for the visitors (towels, toiletries). The bedroom was in a private location, but the house and hosts were warm and welcoming.
Daniel and Corrie are genuinely nice people and hosts, and provided insight about the local area.
Corrie and daniel are wonderful people who made us feel very welcom.there home is besutiful, quiet, peaceful and very relaxing.Very glad we chose to stay with them and they were extremely accomodating when our plans changed
Corrie and Daniel are amazing hosts!! They have a beautiful place. They made us feel quite at home so that it felt we were just spending the weekend at a friend's and not with people we had just met.

About the Host, Daniel And Corrie
I, Corrie, am a part time ESL teacher here locally. My husband, Daniel is a youth director at our church. He meets up with people for coffee and plays lots of sports with the students. We were English teachers in a small village outside of Beijing for a year in 2011. We are well traveled and love to show hospitality to travelers and passersby.
