This was the most amazing property! How often does it happen that something pictured on the internet is superior in person? La Casita de La Abuela Guest House in Taos was so fantastically beautiful! We had a lovely, relaxing time. The hosts had thought of every comfort. The kitchen was well stocked with basics like oil and salt and had everything we needed. You know you are in a good kitchen when it has a garlic press. Thanks so much to our hosts. We understand that the host is a retired architect who designed the guest house. The house and garden are a soaring success. We so appreciated the opportunity to have this get-away in such an enjoyable context. Thank you.
Our three day stay at the Taos Guest House was a delight. It is a charming, well appointed adobe house that had everything we needed. Tastefully decorated, the owners have a lovely collection of folk art that I can only assume came from the local arts community. It is very private, situated on a quiet street at the edge of town and only a short walk from the centre of Taos. Although spacious, there are only two sleeping areas and would be suitable for a couple or family with one or two children.. or in our case a mother/daughter combo.
The owners left us a very complete and amusing guide to their favourite restaurants and sights in the area that we found extremely helpful. Had the weather been more cooperative, I'm sure we would have spent time in the lovely, private garden. The Kiva fireplace and loads of firewood made our evenings cozy and warm.
The only suggestion I have would be to pack eye masks if you like to sleep in. Even with the blinds drawn, this is such a bright, light filled and cheerful home that night owls might find mornings a challenge.
We stayed in Georgia's lovely home for 4 days and absolutely loved it! It is so beautiful and clean. She really has thought of everything. The beds are very comfortable, the kitchen is amazing and has everything you could ever want. This house is filled with so much art you can't help but be inspired. We loved it so much in this house we stayed and extra night! If you are thinking of visiting Taos you should and you should definitely stay in this house, it has to be the best place in town! Thanks Georgia and Bill for making our trip so special!
We arrived in the dark to a beautiful adobe home with the light on and a bottle of wine waiting for us. The house was very clean and comfortable with great lighting. The house is located on a very quiet road and is a 5 minute walk to the plaza.
Our host made herself available and responded promptly to our request.
Excellent stay, highly recommended.
This was by far our favorite Airbnb experience! The house was absolutely lovely, Georgia was helpful without being intrusive, and the house was stocked thoughtfully with everything we could ever need or imagine. It truly felt like we were at home away from home. It is extremely kid friendly. and we were sad to leave! Thank you so much!
The House was amazing! Located at the end of a quiet street, close to the square, beautifully furnished (and we’re snobs!), and oh, did I mention just how lovely the owners were? We arrived early evening, and were greeted with a bottle of wine, cheese and crackers, and a fireplace just waiting to be lit. The house was well stocked with a collection of books, movies, and music. Great sound system, great kitchen, beautiful garden, comfy bed—in short, everything one could wish for to insure a weekend of rest and revitalization. We can’t wait to return!
