Dogs may be allowed with prior permission. Guests agree to conform to the following Dog Policy:
o Dog is non-aggressive to caretakers or anyone else who may happen to be working on the property.
o Dog is friendly with other dogs, as the neighborhood dogs tend to come over to play in the meadow. Resident dog, "Bruiser" has free-range of the property. He is very social and loves to play with our guests (both human and canine) but may seem intimidating because of his size. You have the option of interacting with him or sending him "home." Keeping the gate at top of the stairs shut will keep him off the stairs and out of the treehouse. The treehousekeepers’ dog, “Buddy” tends to be more territorial so they generally keep him inside or near the farmhouse, barn and garden area.
o Dog may go in the treehouse, but must stay on the main floor and is not permitted to get on the furniture. Dog is not permitted in the hot-tub.
o Guest assumes full responsibility for cleanliness of or damage to the treehouse/property as result of dog's occupancy, and any risk to dog if allowed to run outside without leash (eg. getting lost in the woods).
o Guest affirms that female dogs are not in heat. If Dog goes into heat during the stay, Dog is to be confined to the deck, and not allowed into the house. Guest is to supervise Dog when on the grounds and accepts responsibility for any consequences of their dog being in heat.
o Guest accepts liability for any damage or loss whether in and around the treehouse, to the property of the treehouse keeper(s), or to neighboring properties.
o Guest accepts liability for any action of the dog which results in bodily harm to another person or the farm animals while on the treehouse property.

My family had a great time at the tree house. The tree housekeepers were great and the house itself is very private. It was great to get away (very little, if any, cell phone service). We would recommend it to anyone wanting to get away a bit.
Overall, we had a really amazing time. Thank you so much for hosting us!!
There were a few elements that may be good info for others:
1) Privacy. The listing claims that there is a lot of privacy but we were surprised/disappointed to find that the cabin was in easy view of several buildings. We had thought it would be a truly private space and it really wasn't as there also weren't curtains or window coverings and at night people were able to clearly see in. It particularly felt like it was lacking privacy in the kitchen area where the big windows look over the other buildings. It is right on the edge of the trees.
2) It was so lovely arriving to an already roaring fire! What a pleasant surprise!!! Thank you!
3) There is a code to get into the gate to the property. It is in the very first email they sent, which I hadn't realized (my bad!) and so we weren't able to get in. Fortunately someone arrived around the same time we did so it wasn't too much of a problem. My advice: make sure you have the code to get in, and before you leave as the cell service is minimal and you won't be able to check you email so you don't make the same mistake as us!
4) The kitchen was really really well appointed with nice knives and china and it was a really lovely space to settle into and cook. The wood burning stove was really warm and it was quite cosy. There was salt and pepper.
5) There was a sheet in the property with a lot of helpful information, about composting etc. We were surprised to find a $15-20 tip suggested there for the housekeepers. We were surprised both as we already pay a cleaning fee as part of airbnb and also because it would have felt awkward if we hadn't had cash available to leave (the nearest atm is back in town). I think it's important to note so other people can be prepared to tip!
6) We loved the tape deck and selection!! Such quality choice!! We particularly loved the mixes from the 40s, it felt so fitting for the environment!
7) They make good use of the limited space- the shower is not a separate room from the bedroom and the bathroom is a closet (with a great book of fun facts!). There's an outhouse for the pee shy too.
8) We flew into PDX and then rented a car and drive up and the journey was super picturesque and lovely. It was a gorgeous drive.
9) There was nothing more peaceful and relaxing as waking up to the sound of rain on the roof.
Overall, thanks for the wonderful weekend!
Thank you for your comprehensive feedback, Holly. We would love to have you back.
Thank you for letting us know about feeling exposed in the kitchen. Because of the various angles, it is more private from the outside than it may seem from the inside. However, we did have to fall some trees and branches last fall which may have changed the sense of screening. We will be planting some fast-growing fruit trees along the fence this spring which will help with that. In the meantime, we'll see what we can do to put up some curtains. Perhaps half height so you can feel less exposed but still have a view?
The treehouse was great! Clean and well-organized. It was a chilly week, but we stayed plenty warm with the wood stove in the kitchen. There are other heaters available if you don't want to make a fire. The hot tub was clean, private, and hot. The treehouse keepers were friendly and helpful. This is a great place to serve as base for exploring the Gorge. We loved the views of Mt. Adams, and the peace and quiet of the property. We would definitely recommend it!
We enjoyed our stay. It was quiet, relaxing, and there were plenty of hikes and things to explore between White Salmon and Mt. Adams. The is a great spot to getaway to.
The treehouse was great. It was extremely relaxing and quaint. The instructions Roy and Rebecca gave us were very clean which made getting the cabin very easy. The property was beautiful. We met with a few of the people who lived nearby. They were extremely friendly and helpful with pointing out good hiking areas. Their dogs were also very cute and very sociable.
We had a great time at the treehouse. It is rustic and funky. The hot tub was great.
Getting to the Treehouse was super simple and the directions provided by our hosts were crystal clear. I do recommend that you get to the Treehouse before the sun goes down as some signs are small and easy to miss.
On arrival we were greeted by the super friendly dog mentioned in the Listing information. Super sweet dog. The Treehouse was even more amazing than we had anticipated based on the pictures in the listing. We loved using the wood stove in the AM and night to get nice and cozy.
The hot tub is private and perfect for relaxing outside. Would love to come here when it is snowing. We took several walks around the property and loved seeing the changing colors of the fall.
The hosts have great music selections too!
I will be coming back soon to this lovely place!
