The attic flat is clean, spacious, and comfortable. The transaction with Vera and Martin went smoothly.
First of all, I should mention, that though the announcement is made for the room, really it is a whole flat, with kitchen, bathroom and quite big room it the attic. So having a whole flat for this price is a big advantage!
Secondly, Vera was helpful when I was able to reach her.
But the end of the previous sentence is crucial.
The number written in Vera's profile is a home number. So when at the day of arrivel I tried to agree to come earlier than I planned - I failed to reach her by phone and thus decided not to pursue this plans (I was right, there were nobody who could meet me earlier than planned 9 pm).
But when I got problems and I tried to reach Vera to inform about my being late, I still failed to do it (even after 9 pm, when we agreed to meet), and thus I started being nervious whether everything OK with my stay or not.
Next day I got Vera's cellular phone but it didn't help - it was out of coverage. So of 11 times I called Vera I only once was able to reach her by phone (second day, by home phone).
Another issue is that Vera is not as good in English, so for example I had to explain the question "What time do you usually get up?" because it was not understood.
The heat is turned off diring the night and it gets rather cold so be prepared to it.
Whether to recommend the flat or not depends on personal tolerance to unability to reach the host and cold temperature at night - at other aspects everything is good.
Best days ever, in Vera and Martin's apartment! It was sooooo comfortable and I felt like at home in this apartment!
The apartment where I stayed-Vera and Martin lives in downstairs-is big enough and neat. Also, it has fully equipped and I'm sure that you can find everything you need! City center nearby, and also market, pharmacy, bank, bus stop... are very close. Hosts, Vera and Martin are very kind and nice! One day, we were taking a walk together around the city, they gave me various information about Aachen, and invited me to their dinner! It was wonderful, and I cannot forget this experience!
And one morning when I was sick a bit, Vera gave me some soup and it helped me getting better. It was so touching for me. Besides, Vera and Martin helped me a lot while I was staying in here!! They gave me lots of beautiful memories. :) They are very friendly and wonderful hosts!!
Clean and cozy apartment. Also very quiet at night, you can take a good rest. In the daytime, the room get lots of sunshine, doesn't need to be lighted up. The bathroom is also nice, I could get warm water immediately. Easy to connect WLAN, very useful.
I absolutely recommend this apartment to you all who visit this beautiful city, Aachen!!
Lastly, I appreciate greatly Vera and Martin over and over again.
Thanks for every help. The best hosts ever!! Thank you :)
Couldn't have chosen a better place to stay!
Me and 2 friends were in Aachen for a 3 weeks and our accomodation in Vera's appartment helped it to be a wonderful experience!
We arrived late in the evening, and Vera had bought us some food, and explained to us everything about the place. She has a particular room in the appartment, that she goes there sometimes, but it was not a problem!
The appartment is clean and has everything you need for a pleasant stay! Close to the bus stop, and center of Aachen.
Vera and Martin are very friendly and make everything possible to help and be the best hosts!
I miss there already and I want to come back someday for sure!
Excellent in all respects. The flat is simply furnished, but everything is perfect: spotlessly clean, heating and hot water immediate, quiet nights. About 15 minutes walk from central Aachen, easy parking outside. Vera is an excellent host, very helpful. 5 stars!
