About This Listing
This is a private room with a private en-suite bathroom and a separate entrance. ( No sharing )
Located on the 2nd floor of a stylish Brownstone, on a pretty block in Bed-Stuy, this convenient location is minutes walk from the C and A trains (20 minutes to Manhattan). This is a private, quiet house, and you will be the only guest, There will be no strangers coming in and out of the building.
The owner (me) is living in the adjacent apartment and available for questions and guidance.
The room is tastefully and comfortably furnished, airy, with high ceiling and window. There are desk and chairs, wardrobe, and the large bed accommodates two. Ideal for a couple, or two good friends/close family.
The room has a split system Air-conditioner and fast wi-fi. There is a television with cable and many channels to choose from. The bathroom has a toilette and a shower. There is a little refrigerator were you can keep your own food, and an electric kettle with tea selection/coffee, but no full kitchen. There are very good restaurants in the surrounding blocks, I can guide you to the nice spots if you wish. A Full service Laundromat is also around the corner.
If you want a quiet, pretty, very clean and completely private
pied-a- terre from which to explore the city , this is the space
We came in around 5PM, and as promised, Dee left the keys in her mailbox.. The room was clean and welcoming. The room is quite large, the bed (we have trouble finding beds that we like) is firm but not hard, Perfect. Dee visited when she got home that night and a couple of times after while we were there. She answered our questions and was very helpful. Her cats are so friendly and visited whenever she was there, sometimes staying after for a longer visit. We were there 5 days, and enjoyed the accommodations.
Dee was very kind to wait for us until late at night, but she was not helpful with taxi driver to give instructions to reach her house, nor was she willing to share any conversation with us . I think this is a pity, but the concept of hospitality differs from country to country. Room was clean and quite and comfortable. The location was alll right. Only I wish there were a microwave and a kettle with a proper button ON-OFF .
This review is very incorrect and insulting. I did indeed wait for them to arrive late at night and I absolutely tried to help the taxi driver as much as possible on the phone. I would have been happy to conversate with Christiana and her husband when they arrived, like I do with all my guests, but they were not friendly, and did not did not show any inclination for a chat. They never contacted me throughout their stay and did not make arrangements for their departure, and never asked about baggage storage until check out time. They just assumed that I was going to hold their suitcases and arrange my day around their schedule without arranging it with me in advance, despite the fact that I notified them of the check out time immediately after booking.
I explained to them that I have another guest coming but I made the best effort to help them: I immediately searched and printed not only specific instructions on where to find baggage storage in midtown but I also printed all travel instructions for them to make it to the airport from midtown, all of which made me late for work that day. I don't think Cristiana understands the concept of Airbnb at all.
Accueil formidable par Dee (qui parle bien français !). Le logement est impeccable et charmant. C'est exactement comme sur la photo. La salle d'eau est nickel également. Ce fut top pour notre premier séjour à New York.
This was our best experiance with airbnb.. The apartment was very clean, specious and very private. Perfect for a couple. Dee helped us when we needed help and she was a very nice host with super cute cats :). We definately want to come back to NY and we will chose this apartment again for sure! Thank you Dee for everything!
This was a great airbnb experience!
The room is exactly as picture, very private, but I did get to talk to Dee a couple of times, and she was a great host! She was very flexible with the check out times and helped with some suggestions on what to do around Brooklyn. And if you like cats, like me, hers are delightful little fellows :)
The room is large, bigger than most hotel rooms and even though I was alone, it easily fits two people with tons of space.
The room has great location next to two subway stations that easily can take you to Manhattan, the neighborhood was friendly and I did't have any problems walking from the subway to the room at night. On the way from the subway you also have many restaurant options to eat there or take out.
If I go back to NYC - and I do intend to do so, to see what's like in the summer- I'd definitely stay there again.
Dee and the Brooklyn apartment were fantastic! Dee was more than accommodating. In my excitement I misunderstood the check in time. Even though Dee was out running errands when I arrived she graciously made a trip by the apartment to let me in.
The Apartment itself is wonderful. Simply perfect. Exceptionally clean, spacious, and with a modern flair. Dee really took the time to make the apartment feel like a home away from home. There is a mini fridge and a tea kettle. She also set out a selection of coffee and teas.
The Apartment is just a few blocks from the subway that takes you straight into Manhattan. The surrounding neighborhood is great as well. There is a little restaurant on the corner, and several food stores in the surrounding area.
I can not wait to go back to New York, and when I do I will absolutely stay at Dee's apartment again.
About the Host, Dee
I'm a Filmmaker. I speak English, Hebrew, and some French. I love cooking, photography, and of course, cinema. I can help guide you to your destinations, and recommend favorite spots in Bed-stuy and elsewhere in the city. For my sins, I love shopping, so I can definitely help with that.
