About this listing
A sanctuary in the midst of Hollywood attractions, restaurants and clubs. Set in your own garden paradise, you will be lapped in luxury…jacuzzi bathtub, pool, private garden. A private, secluded and romantic hotel alternative. 2 night minimum.
Eating nook floats between the wooden french doors and Double Dutch door that open to the serene gardens.
Set in the center of Hollywood's attractions, sits this completely private, serene getaway. Surrounded by gardens, fountains, and pools, you are still minutes from Hollywood and Sunset Blvds. You won't find anything like it in the area!
The Cottage is completely private. However if guests need anything, they have only to ask. The pool sparkles, the sun and lounge chairs beckon…enjoy!
Interaction with Guests
We love interacting with our guests if they want but respect their privacy. The Cottage can be very romantic and we have filled it with flowers and candles. So when you want us for advice, directions, anything, we're happy to help. But if you want to be alone to enjoy, that works too. We'll take your lead.
Our neighborhood is one steeped in Hollywood history. Houdini lived next door, and celebrities surround. Yet our street is friendly, warm, safe, and neighborly. You can walk to the Oscars, Grauman's Chinese Theater, and the Walk of Fame. You can also hike famed Runyan Canyon. From celebrities to solitude, we have it all!
There are buses one block away and the subway system within minutes.
Other Things to Note
THE COTTAGE IS NOT AVAILABLE FOR FILMING OR LOCATION SHOOTS…SORRY!
Also the property isn't available as a party venue. We're happy for you to have a few friends over for a glass of wine or cup of coffee, but no birthday, anniversary, pool, bachelorette parties. Sorry again!
We love children and have two grown daughters of our own. But we discourage young children as our pool isn't child-safe.
Apologies to all our smoking friends, but we don't allow smoking inside the Cottage or outside when the doors and windows are open. We know how hard it is to abstain, and will provide an ashtray for your private garden area if you need it. Thanks for understanding!
Also, you will have your own private garden with table and chairs and you are welcome to entertain a couple friends there but no parties please and in the evenings, the dining area next to the main house is for our family only.
The only bad side of staying at Robin's was that we were only there for two nights! I want to live there permanently. You can definitely tell Jeff is an architect because this space is beautiful. High end finishes without feeling stuffy or that you might break something. Very comfortable. The exposed beams and barn door were so cool.
I would love to spend a week here and really see LA. Unfortunately, we felt rushed to even explore the awesome neighborhood right around the cottage. Oh well, "next time!" as we said the whole trip.
Robin's recommendations helped us find some great food and drink specials. Luckily, we got to chat with her by the pool one and day. Glad we saved some time after hiking to jump in the beautiful (yet chilly!) pool. Even in a drought the garden is still so relaxing and nice.
This was a great way to end our honeymoon! We can't wait to go back! Will definitely recommend to friend's and family.
We had a great stay at Robin and Jeff's cottage. The cottage was spacious and clean and the bed was really comfy and had all the bits and pieces to make our stay easy. It is also set in a beautiful garden in a great location with plenty of street parking.
It was our first experience with air bnb and I'm so glad we stayed at Robin's! The cottage is really beautiful, exactly as the picture! Robin left as some eggs, granola, milk and fresh fruit for breakfast. What I was really impressed with were all the small details, like an iPhone plug on the wall (for who like us forgot the adapter! )
I would absolutely recommend to stay at robin's!
After going from one destination to another and staying at different hotels, we tried to avoid hotels in LA and wanted to have a different accommodation experience. Even though I always check Airbnb, the cottage was our first actual booking as we were so excited about this place especially after seeing the pictures but most importantly after reading all the positive reviews. We completely loved the cottage and it really felt like home. The cottage looked exactly like the pictures if not even better :) Robin and Jeff were so welcoming and what's really nice to mention is that they make sure to provide their guests with everything they might need as if the cottage is their guests permanent home. We just loved how hospitable they are especially that they made sure to make our stay during our honeymoon special with a bottle of Prosecco and a congratulations note with those cute bride and groom glasses. The walk of fame is walking distance and the cottage is located in a really nice and calm neighborhood, close to the action but at the same time you can go back and relax after a long day of sightseeing in LA. Also we would like to thank you for your understanding as we had missed our check out time. We definitely recommend staying at the Cottage as well as the chance to meet two wonderful individuals Robin and Jeff. Hope to see you next time we are in LA

If you are traveling to Los Angeles this is the place to stay. It is like a secret garden in the middle of an urban oasis. The pictures on the sight are beautiful but they do not do it justice. I had a wonderful time staying at this beautiful cottage. It is in a safe neighborhood and I never felt afraid to walk around in the area. Robin was so kind and thoughtful, I could not have asked for a better host. She went out of her way to make sure we were comfortable and happy. She even made homemade granola, boiled eggs, and fresh orange juice when we arrived. I highly recommend staying in this gem and getting a chance to meet a really sweet person. Thank you Robin for allowing me the opportunity to stay at your amazing cottage and for just being your sweet self :)
We stayed with Robin and Jeff for four amazing days. From the moment we made the reservation to stay with them they made us feel so welcome. They have the perfect oasis in a lively LA. The location was perfect and the recommendations they left for us were so helpful with places to eat and where to go. During our stay they sent us little tips too and were on hand for anything we needed. We enjoyed fresh orange juice from their orange tree in the garden and they had yoghurts and granola and coffee waiting for us on arrival. An amazing experience which wouldn't have been the same without the hosts. We would and will be recommending this cottage as a must when visiting LA.
About the Host, Robin
I run a nonprofit organization based in South Africa, mothers2mothers. My husband, Jeffrey, is an architect. Our cottage has been a place we have traditionally only offered to our friends and family. But we have recently renovated, with new bed, furniture, and amenities. I love making new friends, have traveled the world staying in b&b's and have become a fan of airbnb. We look forward to welcoming you to our home and introducing you to all the wonderful non-touristy treasures in our neighborhood!
