A sanctuary in the midst of Hollywood attractions, restaurants and clubs. Set in your own garden paradise, you will be lapped in luxury…jacuzzi bathtub, pool, private garden. A private, secluded and romantic hotel alternative. 2 night minimum.
Eating nook floats between the wooden french doors and Double Dutch door that open to the serene gardens.
Set in the center of Hollywood's attractions, sits this completely private, serene getaway. Surrounded by gardens, fountains, and pools, you are still minutes from Hollywood and Sunset Blvds. You won't find anything like it in the area!
The Cottage is completely private. However if guests need anything, they have only to ask. The pool sparkles, the sun and lounge chairs beckon…enjoy!
Interaction with Guests
We love interacting with our guests if they want but respect their privacy. The Cottage can be very romantic and we have filled it with flowers and candles. So when you want us for advice, directions, anything, we're happy to help. But if you want to be alone to enjoy, that works too. We'll take your lead.
Our neighborhood is one steeped in Hollywood history. Houdini lived next door, and celebrities surround. Yet our street is friendly, warm, safe, and neighborly. You can walk to the Oscars, Grauman's Chinese Theater, and the Walk of Fame. You can also hike famed Runyan Canyon. From celebrities to solitude, we have it all!
There are buses one block away and the subway system within minutes.
Other Things to Note
THE COTTAGE IS NOT AVAILABLE FOR FILMING OR LOCATION SHOOTS…SORRY!
Also the property isn't available as a party venue. We're happy for you to have a few friends over for a glass of wine or cup of coffee, but no birthday, anniversary, pool, bachelorette parties. Sorry again!
We love children and have two grown daughters of our own. But we discourage young children as our pool isn't child-safe.
Apologies to all our smoking friends, but we don't allow smoking inside the Cottage or outside when the doors and windows are open. We know how hard it is to abstain, and will provide an ashtray for your private garden area if you need it. Thanks for understanding!
Also, you will have your own private garden with table and chairs and you are welcome to entertain a couple friends there but no parties please and in the evenings, the dining area next to the main house is for our family only.
Robin and Jeff were amazingly welcoming and helpful! The cottage is beautiful, light, spacious, and private—and nestled in a gorgeous yard. We really appreciated the breakfast goodies that they provided—we arrived late at night and it was wonderful to not have to go searching for food first thing in the morning. The neighborhood is safe and very convenient (walking distance) to the Hollywood sites—we really enjoyed watching the Oscar's red carpet preparations! Parking is easy on the street right out front, and driving in LA was much easier than I'd anticipated. We hope that we will have the opportunity to return to the cottage again soon. Thanks so much Robin and Jeff!
Amzing place with greatenergy, Robin and Jeff redefine the super hosts! so warm and kind, helpful and accomodating, we enjoyedwvery second in their sliceof heaven. The birds, the citeua garden, the flowers and the hot tub at night! Amazing loving couple with inspiring home.
we are coming back for sure
A beautiful property run by two of the nicest, most helpful people you're ever likely to meet. The cottage itself is stunning, perfectly located, and well stocked with everything you could possibly need during your stay. Robin and Jeff really went over and above during our short time with them, and were always on hand with restaurant recommendations, local advice, and the odd tale about the history of the area. All in all, an incredible experience and I'll be looking to stay at the property again next time I find myself in LA.
It was a beutiful little cottage. yes the listing description was perfect!
I had a lovely stay at the Hollywood Cottage except for an incident that occurred the night before I left and continued into the next day. The cottage is lovely and is exactly as described. It is truly a beautiful place, with a very lovely garden, and a totally private place to dine outside. If you are a light sleeper like me, the heater could be a problem. It made a clicking sound that kept waking me up the first night I was there. The owners kindly gave me a space heater to use for the second night.
If you don’t plan on having a car, you probably don’t need to read the rest of this review since it has to do with parking and car issues. I asked the host about parking in the evening as I planned to return about 9:30 PM . Jeff assured me that there is usually plenty of parking and, in the event that there wasn’t any, he told me to call him and he’d help me out. Unfortunately, when I returned to the cottage that evening, there wasn’t any parking on the street. I immediately called Jeff in a panic but he didn’t answer the phone and never returned my call. I drove around the neighborhood for awhile and then found parking about four blocks away. I am a single, older woman and generally do not like walking around in a neighborhood I am unfamiliar with after dark but I had no choice. The neighborhood was safe and I didn’t meet any unsavory characters but still this is a situation I did not anticipate happening. I parked on a street where there were quite a few spots. The next day, as I was about to checkout and drive 3 hours to my next destination, I went to retrieve my car. It was locked in. The cars in front of me and behind me were parked so close to me that when I asked some people walking by to help me, they said it was impossible to get the car out. It turned out that the street I parked on was where people park to hike on Runyon Canyon.
What upset me, in addition to having to walk in the dark and not being able to get my car out, was the apparent lack of concern on the part of Jeff and Robin. I never received a call from them to see if I was alright. I wish they had told me specifically where to park (or not to park) in case there was no parking on their street so that I wasn’t placed in this situation.
Dear Carol, I'm very sorry you had this experience…in fact, this is the first Jeff or I heard about you having the problem picking up your car. As I recall, we got home right after you called Jeff (we had been out to dinner) and told you we would move our car from the driveway so you could park there, but you said all was ok that you had found a place to park. I didn't know you had parked near Runyan Canyon and honestly I wouldn't have known about that problem as we never drive to Runyan Canyon. Almost all our guests have cars and this is the first complain we have had about parking but I will be more diligent to ask where people park in future. Otherwise, I'm glad you enjoyed your stay. Warmly, Robin
Experience was great - place was easy to get to, checkin was easy, and Robin was very nice and helpful the entire time. Cottage was fully as awesome in person as it looked online. Next time we're back in L.A., we'll think seriously about staying here again.
I run a nonprofit organization based in South Africa, mothers2mothers. My husband, Jeffrey, is an architect. Our cottage has been a place we have traditionally only offered to our friends and family. But we have recently renovated, with new bed, furniture, and amenities. I love making new friends, have traveled the world staying in b&b's and have become a fan of airbnb. We look forward to welcoming you to our home and introducing you to all the wonderful non-touristy treasures in our neighborhood!
