Interaction with Guests
We live in Asheville nearby but do not live in the building but are happy to answer any questions you have.
Downtown Asheville is energetic and we are right in the center of the action! Lots of cool spaces to explore, amazing restaurants and nightlife. We are across the street from Table and Imperial Life, which features a Friday late night Hip Hop Dance party. We are two doors down from the One Stop/Asheville Music Hall which stays open late and features funk, reggae, and rock. Old time, bluegrass, celtic, rock, symphony, African drumming, trad jazz, modern jazz, gypsy, singer-songwriters and eclectic street performers are a stone's throw from here as well. Award winning restaurants including sushi, Indian (north or south), Korean, Italian, BBQ, Southern, vegan, charcuterie, farm-to-table, pizza, Spanish, gluten free, French, Chinese, bakeries, coffee houses, tea, four chocolateries, twelve breweries (and counting…) and food trucks galore. Art galleries feature openings every weekend in downtown and nearby and keep daytime business hours to explore artists from the area and from afar.
The loft is close to several parking decks. You will not need to drive unless you are going to the River Arts District, Biltmore House or hiking in the mountains. Located between Lexington Ave & Haywood St, the loft is a 1 minute walk to Pack Square and Biltmore Ave and a 3 minute walk to the Grove Arcade & Wall St. Taxis run all the time.
Other Things to Note
The building has an elevator. The entrance to the building has secure keypad code access. The bedroom is in the interior of the condo with pocket doors to separate the room from the living area and windows. Downtown Asheville can be noisy and music can be heard Friday nights until 2 a.m. from the club across the street. We have a white noise machine and earplugs to minimize any disruption. It can however be loud for guests sleeping on the pullout couch in the living area. We cannot issue refunds for noise emanating from the neighborhood around the condo.
The bedroom tends to get hot if the heat is set to 70 so you might want to turn it down for comfort while sleeping.
No smoking in the apartment. We welcome dogs with prior approval.
The Downtown Artist Loft was the perfect place for my wife and I to get away for a few days. The location is very convenient to everything in downtown Asheville. The loft is very nice and was a much better option than staying at a hotel away from the downtown area. We were worried about some about street noise, but the bedroom does a really good job of drowning out the noise. The process of working with Krista was very easy and made the experience that much better. If you are looking a place to stay in downtown Asheville, this is the one you want to chose.
Listing was as described. Loft is right downtown and walking distance to everything. Loved that they had coffee (with creamers!!) and tea in the kitchen. Little details made the stay exceptional. Will stay again for sure!
We had a wonderful long weekend staying in the loft downtown, my husband, my 3yr old and myself. The loft was very clean and in a perfect location the were even popsicles waiting in the freezer for the little one. Krista and Andy were always easy to reach by phone if we had any questions or concerns. From other reviews and the hosts we were warned that noise at night could be an issue. Yes, the main living area could get loud at night but nothing more than you would expect when staying downtown in an older building. The noise (even on weekend nights) never bothered us when we were sleeping in the bed room (even the 3yr old).
The host made us feel completely welcome with excellent communication and clear instructions. We had phone numbers to call if need be, and plenty of information to welcome us to town. It was one of the best rental experiences we've had in decades, partly because the attention to details made us feel so comfortable. We are so thankful to have had the opportunity to share this wonderful home. I was especially appreciative that there were live plants, lots of light, and no artificial scents (thank you, thank you!) There was a recycle bin that we appreciated, and the kitchen was well appointed. This home has an amazing city decor with it's high ceilings, wall of windows overlooking the city, hardwood floors, and efficient kitchen. Pocket doors offer privacy, and plenty of bed linens are stored in an attractive armoire. The bed was so comfortable that it must have an independent spring system. You could get out of bed without disturbing the person you're with. It's important to us to have unscented and natural products. I appreciated the host's apparent value to this way of thinking. The bathroom had a couple of features that will remind you that Krista has your comfort in mind such as: shampoo and conditioner, eye makeup remover pads, razors, q-tips, hand soap, hair drier, and a nifty little night light. The sound machine was a nice touch, and the ceiling fans in both the living area and bedroom were lovely. What a great collection of books, magazines and board games to enjoy! If you want to be right in the heart of the city, you have to realize that the sounds of the nearby restaurants and bars are part of the ambiance. It was so convenient to walk down the stairs or hop onto the elevator and immediately be steps from all that downtown Asheville has to offer. The craft beer and delightful variety of really great restaurants and meeting places are just a small taste of what this city has in store for you. We found a European style bakery that had lines out the door late at night. Their cakes and cookies were magical. If you still have a sweet tooth after that, find the drinking chocolate establishment. Oh my! Tapas at a favorite restaurant, pizza made with local heirloom stoneground grain, and a two hour painting class from a local artist (The Paint Bug) were just a few of the many adventures to add to our memories of this progressive town. It was a short drive (worth it) to The Biltmore Estate. We'd love to keep this place our little secret, but in hopes that the owner will continue to share this special gem...we have decided to share our experience with those of you that are looking for "that special getaway". We left this home exactly as we found it and treated it with love and care. I could only hope that anyone who stays here will do the same so that we...
We had an absolutely fantastic weekend staying in Krista and Andy's place in downtown Asheville. The location was absolutely perfect - walkable to great restaurants, bars, and breweries. The loft was beautiful! We could not have found a better place to stay - hands down. Krista was extremely responsive and the instructions for getting into the loft was very easy and well described for us. They even had local craft beers waiting in the fridge. We LOVED this place!!!
Krista was an awesome host!! Her loft is beautiful & functional!! So fun to be right down town and able to walk to so many places to shop and eat!! We hope to be able to visit again soon. I would definitely recommend Krista's loft to anyone who wants to enjoy beautiful downtown Asheville and feel like they have their own home away from home!!!
