We live in both NYC and Los Angeles. We divide our time between those locations and traveling. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask!
There is some intermittent construction next door during the week from around 8:30 am until 4 pm only so we are discounting our rate because there *might* be construction. No one really minds however since no one comes to NYC to lay in bed during the day! =)
Airbnb adds fees to the price of the room, so please don't email asking for us to confirm the total price. Especially with foreign exchange rates, we have no idea what price is being shown as the total to our guests.
Guests will have access to the entire apartment. Kitchen appliances, washer/dryer, and umbrellas.
Interaction with Guests
When home, we are happy to show our guests our neighborhood and offer advice on the best sights, restaurants and bars! Or, we can leave guests to wander at their leisure. Please let us know.
Details will be left with wi-fi access, Chromecast and printer directions, restaurant recommendations, event info, and insider tips!
TWO MOST IMPORTANT RULES
**No parties, loud noise, or extra guests unless previously discussed.
**Please do not smoke in the apartment. You may smoke on your private balcony but please pick up all cigarette butts and throw them in the trash can.
**Guests that violate these two rules will be asked to leave and forfeit the rest of the payment for their stay. Extra cleaning fees or damages will be assessed.**
Checkout is promptly at 11 am unless arranged beforehand. Keys must be dropped off before then. Keys not dropped off or late checkouts without approval will incur a minimum charge of $50. We hate to do this but we need to protect our ability to check-in arriving guests without delay.
Lost keys will incur a minimum charge of $100 per set (charged by the building for the special keys used as a secure building) plus any locksmith fees if applicable. Please do not lose your keys or lock yourself out.
No shoes inside the apartment.
You have full access to the kitchen and appliances. Please feel free to store or eat anything you like in the fridge but replace anything you take.
Please alert us if anything gets broken (plates, glasses, etc.) so that we can replace them.

We had a great experience in Stacey's apartment. We didn't meet Stacey personally but she was quick to reply to any communication and sent a lot of really useful information on the area and on NY in general. The room was spacious with a lovely bathroom, as advertised. Not much natural light but that wasn't an issue as we were out all day! The house and room were very clean and tidy. Clear house rules made sure other guests were respectful of each other. The only slight drawback was that the 'key cafe' system for collecting and dropping off the keys was a bit confusing, and the drop off point is a 10 minute walk from the apartment, which is a bit of a pain in NY winter weather! We would highly recommend Stacey's apartment and would be happy to stay there again.
Thanks for your feedback on the key cafe system. We use it when out of town so guests are free to arrive at their leisure without having to contact someone to gain access, which can be a problem for guests without mobile service. The location we use has the most flexible hours for our guests.
We never actually got to meet Stacey, but the room was fantastic. Very clean, warm and just like the pictures and description. The bed was especially comfortable. Having our own entrance was super convenient as well. I would definitely recommend this place and would stay here again during a future visit.
My girlfriend and I had our birthdays coming up and we wanted to treat ourselves to a quick weekend up in New York. Since neither of us had been up in a while, and we only had a couple of days, we wanted to stick to Manhattan. A hotel was quickly ruled out because of cost, and it didn't take us long to find Stacey's apartment.
What an amazing space! The main apartment is on the ground floor, which includes the kitchen, living room and one bed/bath. Then a spiral staircase (very tight, I'm 6'4" and had to take things down one at a time) takes you down to the basement where the other two bedrooms are. The decor is very cute and stylish, with a good mix of more modern Ikea pieces and antique pieces with a fresh coat of paint. There's an adjoining bathroom with a shower tub, which was very clean. Then the bed! By far one of the most comfortable beds we've slept on, and it had a quilted headboard. I'd never really considered a padded headboard before, but within a few minutes of resting our heads on this one we were online shopping for one.
Like the description says, this bedroom has its own private entrance which puts you into the basement of the apartment building. Because of this we only went through the rest of the apartment twice. We did here some footsteps in the morning, but never interacted with the other people staying there. Being New York, the only times we were in the apartment was when we were sleeping, or taking a quick break to rest our feet.
Finally, my dad being from New York I thought I had explored most of Manhattan. Apparently I'd missed Chinatown! Two streets away are block after block of Chinese markets, which were really fun to walk through on Saturday morning. Screw Times Square and the other tourist traps, if you stay at this apartment you'll be in a neighborhood that people actually live in.
All in all, a great place to stay for our quick little New York vacation. I really can't recommend it enough!
We stayed here for 11 days, everything looks just like the pictures on the website. The pickup and drop off of the keys was really easy, Stacey's email before arriving was perfect. Everything was explained what to do en how everything works. The bedroom was spacious and clean. The apartment is perfect! Location is very good, just 1 block from the sub. Neighborhood is pretty calm, no loud noises during the stay there.
For me: I will definitely going back to this apartment!!
Stacey thanks again!
We stayed in the room with its own bathroom and a private entrance. The unit is just as pictured, clean and stylish. Our room was a bit small for a couple and 2 suitcases. We weren't able to warm the room sufficiently during the late November cold snap. Obtaining the key required walking a few blocks, not a problem if the weather is good or you don't have a very early morning flight. There is not an option to store luggage if you arrive early; our red-eye arrived at 6:00am. The unit is very well located, safe, with many options for coffee, food or drinks.
My daughter arrived before me and had no problems picking the key up. Unfortunately we didn't meet Stacey this time. The apartment was lovely but not really as pictured. The yellow lounges have been replaced by two smaller red ones - not a problem unless there are 6 sharing them. The kitchen was great - just needs a few utensils. Our room (one of 3) was beautiful but I would have loved an opening window. It had a seperate entry to this room so that was very handy. I would definitely stay here again but in the upstairs room which has a balcony with sliding door to let some air in. Great location withing easy walking to some great cafes and restaurants and close to subway to go exploring. Really safe private keyed entry so we came and went day and night, it was wonderful.

We're two laid back recently California girls who share an amazing three bedroom and three bathroom apartment in a renovated historic building on the LES which is where we first started hosting on airbnb after losing a roommate. We travel and live on both coasts, sharing our time between LA and NYC and have apts in both cities. It's been such an amazingly positive experience for us with airbnb and we've become great friends with some of our guests.
Our style is modern surfer chic meets eclectic luxe. We love the outdoors, good food with friends old and new, grabbing a glass of wine or sake in our neighborhood, and taking meandering bike rides.
We adore traveling and are fortunate enough to travel often for work and leisure. We'd love to meet you and share our city with you.
