Thomas is absolutely the most passionate and genuine host I have met to date! To put the icing on the cake, during my stay I felt the lines blur between professional hospitality and friendship.
Phenomenal! Thomas speaks perfect English, is a vibrant entrepreneur who ensured that everything was perfect before our arrival and during our stay. He secured door to door pickup and drop-off, helped create customized and bullet proof itineraries to see the best things across Egypt regardless of our short timeline and tight budget, booked overnight rail tickets, treated us to traditional Egyptian food and much much more. As you can guess already, above all else, Thomas focuses on creating an unforgettable experience. Thomas ensures you are armed with strategies to defeat scams in the market place, a blessing as I am a young and poor entrepreneur. You will not find a cheaper, more knowledgeable guide than Thomas. He organizes everything for a minimal cost, and he keeps away anyone who might hassle you.
Egypt is 100% overwhelming if you travel by yourself and arrange tours through third party vendors. Thomas eliminates all those worries by connecting you with people that will keep you safe and has the same values as he does, giving you a once in a lifetime experience at local prices. Additionally, if possible Thomas connects you with his other guests and friends from all over the world. In my case, I met people from over 6 countries either doing volunteer work in Egypt, traveling artists, international students, successful movie professionals and more. You can’t put a price tag on meeting amazing people from around the world in an open and welcoming environment facilitated by Thomas.
Epic/Godly! Sunrise to sunset the breathtaking, rooftop, panoramic view of the pyramids leave you in awe of human ingenuity. We actually booked hotel 3X the cost with metal detectors because everyone we knew was pitching how unsafe Egypt was. After realizing all Egypt is safe and friendly we visited Thomas. Instantly, we fell in love with the clean/safe/welcoming/spacious Loft. Additionally, his pyramid views were unparalleled compared to the overly price resort we original stayed. Immediately, we canceled our remaining reservation to stay with him.
Convenient! Actually, you are **50** meters from the entrance of the Giza pyramids. His guest house is a steal, BOOK NOW, any working professional would easily pay $150/night just for the view alone and the convenience of being literally steps away from the Pyramids. A local convince store is a couple buildings down and with $10 you be able to buy so much food that you would need 2 people to help you carry it. You can find many local restaurants nearby, but if you are really chain restuarant sick there is a KFC 2 blocks away.
Lastly, I want to take this opportunity to personally thank Thomas for sharing his amazing home with us and giving us an experience of a lifetime. Can't wait to come back!
Thomas is a genuinely kind guy with excellent people skill. He has absolutely brilliant local knowledge, and is extremely considerate and organised. His place is welcoming, and we enjoyed the Sound & Light show from the rooftop. We would strongly recommend his place! Thank you Thomas. Corey and Tim
The loft is simply amazing, the people there are lovely, and Thomas is extremely helpful in all things Giza and Cairo. Even the photos provided don't do justice to just how close the pyramids are to the apartment, it's frankly unbelievable. Being antisocial is perhaps the only reason one might have for not wanting to stay here -- the tenants are universally friendly and fun.
Thomas was an absolutely incredible host! From the moment we arrived at the airport he made us feel welcome. As two American girls traveling alone we had some preempted hesitation about Egypt, but Thomas quickly showed us how kind and hospitable all Egyptians truly are. He made our trip out to the pyramids unforgettable by both showing us the tourist side of the pyramids and taking us to unseen treasures that aren't normally open to the public. Thomas even took it a step further by arranging all our transport for good prices and accompanying us on all of our excursions- he really made it easy to adapt to Egyptian culture. I would truly recommend the pyramid loft to anyone looking to go to Egypt. Not only does Thomas treat you as an honored guest, but you leave as good friends.
Thomas rocks, and the location of this hostel, blocks from the pyramids, is unbeatable. Initially, he didn't have any openings, but I received a welcoming message from him within an hour of making contact, and he quickly found a space for my 12-year-old daughter and me. That's the tone that Thomas maintains with his guests; he's always ready to make things happen. He took us on the world's best tour of the pyramids, working with the guards to get us in to see all kinds of things. He helped me get train reservations too. Everyone at the hostel is very friendly, in fact, the area feels very safe, and the roof deck looks over the pyramids and provides a great place for small kids to play while the adults relax.
Staying at The Pyramid Loft made our trip to Egypt amazing. I would recommend it to everyone, we could not fault it. Thomas is the perfect host, he gave us great advice and was always available to help, even when we couldn't communicate with our taxi driver. We went on a tour around the pyramids of giza, it was the perfect day, all thanks to Thomas. The only down side is that we had to leave Egypt so soon, we are definitely coming back, and will stay with Thomas. The flat was clean, tidy, fresh and the perfect place to relax whilst enjoying the beautiful view. The village is lovely as well, with some great food places and lovely Egyptian people. Thanks again Thomas!
I was meet at the airport had a nice ride to the place arranged by Thomas. The place looked as little schetchy on the outside but once in I was pleasantly surprised. Since I did not plan to cook much the lack of oven was OK. The fridge was a good size and the room nicely proportioned. I really enjoyed the large tub and shower. Thomas arranged for our outing to the pyramids came with us and took care of the whole day full of going to all the pyramids and a special camel ride i will not forget. His advise was greatly appreciated. The mingling dowstairs was refreshing as well as the meals at the egyptian style table. l highly recommend this place if you want a once in a lifetime experience. I truly appreciated my experience and the time Thomas spent with us. We had the privilege of seeing the sound and light show every night from the really nice patio. We even experienced a sand storm. You would be missing an opportunity of a lifetime by not staying at Thomas's his attention to your experience is very good
