4-Bedroom Storybook Tudor home with spacious backyard in the heart of South Pasadena. Perfect for a big family, business or pleasure travelers looking for somewhere close to Downtown LA. Walk to Trader Joes, restaurants and the Gold Line train.
Finding a large lovely home with 3 or more bedrooms in a NICE neighborhood is hard to find. Many of the guests who have stayed here were in town for weddings and family reunions and were looking for an alternative to a hotel so they could all be together in a relaxing and private environment. Other guests have been groups of friends converging together from different parts of the world for events at Caltech, JPL, and the Rose Parade.
Interaction with Guests
I will be close by and available to assist you with anything related to the house!
Location Scouts: I do NOT rent my home for ANY type of film or television shoots through Airbnb.
The house is on a historic tree-lined street in a residential part of South Pasadena. If you love architecture and history, this is the place for you.
South Pasadena is a lush, quiet neighborhood that is central to almost everything in Los Angeles.
We are just off the 110 Freeway which gets you to downtown LA in 15 minutes. Silver Lake takes 20 minutes. Hollywood takes 25 minutes. Pasadena and the 134/210 Freeway are under 10 minutes away.
Without a car, no problem! You'll be able to walk to Trader Joes on the corner and to the Mission Street shops in downtown South Pasadena.
It's a 6 minute walk to the Gold Line train which runs from Pasadena & South Pasadena, to Chinatown, Union Station, and Little Tokyo. The train is part of the metro rail network that goes almost anywhere in Los Angeles.
A quick 10 minute ride downtown will take you to the hottest new restaurants and bars in LA, Dodger Stadium, Staples Center (for the Lakers, Clippers and Kings) as well as more shopping and dining.
Or take the train the other way to Old Town Pasadena (home of the Rose Parade!) for more top-notch restaurants and shops.
Other Things to Note
There is a tenant (a USC PhD student) who lives in a guest house at the back of the property. He enters and exits the property through a locked side gate and does not have access to the main house.
Parking - You can easily park two vehicles in the driveway. Just don't block the sidewalk with a vehicle because people walk around a lot in our neighborhood. You can also park cars on the street all day, but from 2am-6am an overnight pass is required. You can easily get 1-day overnight passes ($2) at the Police Department located at 1422 Mission Street from a kiosk.
Our black cat Lucy lives on the property. She is predominantly an outside cat. She has access through a cat door to a separate dwelling at the back of the property to her food, water, and bed. You are welcome to let her into the main house at night, but she should be let back outside during the day. She is kid-friendly, has no fleas (Advantage), and is as sweet as sugar.
Absolutely 8 guests maximum including children of any age. This is NOT a party house. Please be considerate of my neighbors on all sides by not being loud at night past 10pm. They know to text me immediately if they are disturbed. My family is so grateful to have this wonderful home and we are happy to share it with other respectful families and travelers to also enjoy.
Jaime was very warm and kept me informed of everything. Everything was as expected, we had a short stay visiting family in the area. We did not stay in the house much, but, we found the space clean, neat, comfortable, just as described in the listing.
Jaime was great! Her home was perfect with lots of space for our family of 7 who traveled into town for a family wedding. The location is terrific! We had never stayed in South Pasadena before and found it charming. The homes reminded us of Berkeley or Palo Alto and the neighborhood was very walkable and fun to check out. Thanks for opening your home to us and special thanks for having coffee/keurig ready to use! Your user manual was very well organized- we felt like we were staying at a friend's house and it was much appreciated!
This home was everything we wanted! It was in the perfect location. There are great places to eat in the area and the neighborhood was quiet and peaceful, an ideal spot to unwind and relax, but it was still very easy to get to the tourist areas like Hollywood Boulevard. The kitty, Lucy, is an absolute treat, she is so playful and adorable and we loved having her around. Jaime was very helpful and kind, making sure that everything was going good for us and we were completely comfortable texting her if we had any questions. Overall, staying at this house really was the cherry on top of the whole vacation. I highly recommend it!
Jaime could not have been more helpful in helping us plan our Rose Bowl Parade & Game experience. She was immediately responsive with questions about transportation & restaurants. Her home was ideally located for easy access to both Parade & Game. We breezed to Rose Bowl , I think we took back roads the few miles to the game & never hit a stop light. The home is very cozy & charming with lots of character. Note to future Rose Bowl travelers : near impossible to do both Parade & Game... & Pay for advanced parking passes ! The traffic queuing out of parade will not allow you to get to the game in time for decent parking. We got there 11:30 took us 2 hours to get parking & had to walk almost 2 miles to game & spend 30 minutes in a mass of humanity queuing into entry gates almost missed tip off of game.
The house was clean and well prepared for our visit with extra towels, etc. Me and my family really enjoyed our stay there.
Jaimie was a great host, I meet her before and she gave Us a personal tour. I rented the house for others and she was great in keeping us informed. The house was comfortable and was a real home with good energy as nice furniture.

Internet professional, college professor, mom, foodie, born in Hollywood, spent my adult life in NY. I tend to travel once a month for business to New York and San Francisco. I like things to be clean, nice and peaceful. Unless of course I'm seeing some weird obscure band play live, and in that case I like noise and chaos.
