We are on the third and fourth floor of a period apartment building at the heart of east London, just a 2min walk from Broadway Market and Victoria Park.
It's an unusually large apartment with big windows and high ceilings. We have a beautiful grand piano (occasionally played) and a few other little luxuries such as a sunken bath and monsoon shower.
There are two bedrooms on the top floor, both of which go out on to a terrace looking over London. The third bedroom is on the lower floor.
The City is about a 10min bus ride and central London 20min on the tube. Just round the corner from us is beautiful Victoria Park, and we enjoy walks along the canal as well as the local pubs which are some of the best in London. If you're new to town the markets are a must, with Columbia Road Flower Market and Brick Lane a 5min walk away. If galleries are your thing we have Vyner Street which has about 20 with openings most weeks, as well as Redchurch Street near Brick Lane. Foodies won't go hungry either thanks to the local markets and restaurants such as Bistroteque, The Empress and Viajante as well as cheap multi-ethnic options all a stroll away. And for those who like to take good care of themselves there is the Olympic-sized Lido in London Fields as well as the London Spa (a beautifully restored Turkish bath) all around the corner. Yes, we love the neighbourhood.
We don't have any pets and all utilities, wifi etc are included. Drop us a line if you're interested.
We have downstairs neighbours so we make sure we try to be quiet when coming in late at night in communal areas.
For smokers, there's the roof terrace with fine views towards London Fields and Victoria Park.
The piano is there fore anyone to play but please - no drinks on it!
If there are four guests or more, please be mindful of water usage as the bathroom runs off a tank.
Sweet room in a loft apartment with views & spacious living area~ With the bus stop just round the corner, i'd rather live east near the markets & quite cafe surroundings than in the heart of London anyday. Highly recommended~ Claire & Will were also helpful in any way they can~
We loved staying at Claire and Will's excellent place! It's a large house, bursting with character. Fresh towels and bedlinen, and everything was spotless. Location is superb. Inbetween two parks, and right around the corner from some outstanding markets. We can recommend breakfast and coffee at "look mum no hands". Unfortunately we didn't get a chance to meet them - we came home later at night, and they were up early. Even so, communication was clear, and we could always call them. Recommended!
We had a wonderful time at Will & Claire's flat when we stayed there for a long weekend beginning of July. Will and Claire are super nice and gave us great tips where to go and which buses to take etc. Lovely Broadway Market is close by - we really loved the area. The flat is conveniently located near a main street with great transport connections, which also means that you have a bit of traffic noise at night (with open window). The hosts and the flat are great - I can highly recommend it and would stay there again anytime!
The apartment is as beautiful in person as in the pictures, and Will was a gracious host (we didn't get to meet Claire).
We really enjoyed the nearby cafes, grocery and shops (next to London Fields), and capitalized on the bus stop at the corner daily.
I booked Claire and Will's room for a Director staying in town for a few weeks. They were a pleasure to deal with and my director loved the stay and was really happy. Will definitely be using them again in the future!
It was a very nice stay at Will and Claires house. The space is truly beautiful, there where flowers, fresh bedsheets and towels in my room and i felt very welcomed. the area was perfect and well connected with trains and busses. would definately come back!
Claire and Will are the perfect hosts! My stay could not have been better except the lack of time. C&W are so nice, helpful, caring, communicative, simply charming and fun to be with, They try hard to make it a perfect stay. The flat is lovely as well, located very close to the center of Shoreditch with a bus stop outside. The flat is decorated in a modern and stylish way and looks even better than in the pictures. There is so much space and I would have loved to stay longer in this flat and also spend more time with Claire and Will.
I'm an urban designer and spare-time artist who loves to cook, and eat out even more. Will works in academia and politics and is into The West Wing, cricket and making music.
