The Pyramids Loft is a four apartment house with a breathtaking pyramid view; the best in town! We have it fixed with a barbecue and cushions on the shared rooftop. The rooms for rent are spacious, furnished, clean, and safe.
The price is per room per night in one of the apartments which all have four bedrooms. The apartments all have shared living rooms furnished with a sitting area, a table, and cable TV. There is wireless internet access in the whole building.
The area is away from downtown, but you will have no difficulty finding everything you need nearby. There are supermarkets open 24/7, souvenir shops, swimming pools, cafés and restaurants, and even a golf course right at the foot of the pyramids. If you want to go downtown, the transportation is efficient and very cheap, costing no more than 50 cents!
Thomas residence has an amazing view of the Pyramids. Good place to appreciate this wonderful of the world, to know people and to live experiences about arabian traditions and culture. Thomas is an amazing person, help us with the first informations about the country and the Piramyds site.
Thomas is a really great guy. Do not worry about how to get there. Thomas can fix a guy to pick you up at the airport for 20 usd. We stayed at his place for 5 nights and he was guiding all along for the whole trip. He also planned out our whole trip for us in Egypt. His place is probably the closest to the pyramids. The way he protected us from the vendors at the pyramids is really amazing. He even haggles for us and got a great price when we wanted to buy some souvenirs. Thomas arranged the camel and the horse rides for us from his place to the pyramids for a great price. I think it is way more cheaper than those camels or horses at the pyramids. At night, he even sets up his barbecue place at the rooftop and let us experience a taste of Egyptian foods. Not only that, he also sets up his shisha(water pipe) and let us try it. At night, you can catch the sound and light show at the rooftop of Thomas's place for free! So it was really amazing. Shisha, barbecue and the cool winds of Egypt while watching the Sound and Light show of the pyramids all at the Pyramids Loft's rooftop. The grocery shops are really near to Thomas place. It opens for like 24 hours. There is also a KFC nearby and a juice store. It is really easy to get lost in Cairo when boarding the microbus. When you are lost, don't worry. Just call Thomas. He borrowed us a phone so that we could contact him easier. Taxi drivers at Egypt tend to make the taxi meter go crazy. The amount increases really fast. Luckily Thomas was with us in the taxi and he noticed what the taxi driver has done. Thomas told the driver to stop and had a little argument with him and we straight away got off the taxi. The way Thomas treats his host is really amazing. The tourist rates at the pyramids have been decreasing lately maybe because of the news people hear, but do not worry. Egyptians are really friendly people and Thomas is also there to protect you. I would definitely recommend Thomas to be your host. He is a really nice guy and also has a really nice place. Thomas will make you enjoy your stay. If I had a chance to go to Egypt again, I would definitely want Thomas to be my host.
This place is becoming like a second home for me. Every time I need to get out of Cairo for a few days I come to Thomas's and relax in peace and quiet at the foot of the pyramids. The building is significantly nicer (recently remodeled) than most of the buildings I've seen in the area, and Thomas is a fantastic host. I've seen firsthand, on several occasions, how he handles guests who are passing through, and he really goes out of his way to take care of them (escorting people to the pyramids, showing people around Giza, etc.). If you're nervous about coming to Egypt, don't be. Just stay at the Pyramids Loft and let Thomas take care of you.
My experience at The Pyramids Loft was exceptional in every way. I was initially a bit worried about the political situation in Egypt and the resultant hassling of tourists that has been reported in the media; however it didn't take me long to realise that thanks to Thomas, those fears were unfounded.
My host made my stay in Cairo a breeze, he arranged my late night airport transfer to Giza at a very reasonable price making that process completely painless. Over the next couple days Thomas took me to see the pyramids (practically in the backyard of this place), and he made that process completely painless as well, deflecting the hordes of often quite pushy vendors hawking trinkets within/around the Giza Necropolis.
After my week in Giza I went on to Dahab, and Thomas was kind enough to let me leave one of my suitcases in the room until I returned a week later to retrieve it on my way home. He also helped me arrange all of my travel to and from Dahab and my late night transfer back to the Cairo airport.
In short, Thomas went way above and beyond what I expected. Since I usually prefer to travel on a backpackers budget I did initially balk at the price, but there's no doubt in my mind that the host saved me a lot of money in the long run by making sure I didn't get ripped off at various intervals. I whole-heartedly recommend The Pyramids Loft to anybody searching for accommodation in the Giza area, you'll have a great time and make a wonderful friend in the process.
It was great experience to stay at Thomas's place which has great view of pyramids very closely and very supportive to make the environment comfortable. He show me around the area of Giza and pyramids that is not something you do not experience if you are by yourself.
The home of Thomas is the best place in Egypt. In front of the pyramids, you can walk up to them, or rent a camel friends Thomas. Thomas was an excellent host, helped me with airport transfer, meals, a tour of the pyramids and could still attend a wheel Chicha (Narghile) and beer with your friends. Also, helped me catch the train to Luxor.
The bedroom, kitchen and bathroom are clean, the WIFI is very good and the bed is comfortable. The terrçao is an excellent place for you to watch the sunset taking a tea, coffee or a beer! The neighborhood is super quiet and silecionsa, you sleep peacefully, with only the sounds of horses and camels :)
Near the house there are several choices of food, Egiptin or American (like Pizza Hut), several small markets and bakeries where you can buy everything you need.
Além disso, me ajudou a pegar o trem para Luxor.
Ahmed knows Cairo back-to-back and will go out of his way to make sure you are comfortable both in and out of the home, a perfect host. A very social space! I would highly recommend staying here to anybody visiting Cairo.
I can't say enough good things about this place so far. I have plans to stay in Egypt for a year, and I thought I'd spend my first week at the Pyramids loft and then go from there. Two weeks and about 30 new friends later, I'm still here, and I don't have plans to leave.
My time at the Pyramids Loft was great. Thomas was a really nice host, always ready to answer my questions. My first night he showed me around the town.
The loft is very close to the pyramids and has a great view. It was a little far from downtown, but you can reach it in about 45 minutes depending on traffic if you take a taxi to the metro. It won't cost you more than a few dollars.
The bed is comfortable and the wifi is good.
Thomas is a wonderful host. He offered to pick us up and take us back to the airport and was constantly ensuring we were comfortable and enjoying our stay. He even lent us a cellphone to use to contact him and guidebook. He was helpful with tips and advice about the local way of life. The room was excellent with stunning views over the pyramids just a step outside the door! Would happily recommend staying here to anyone. Although Western travel advisories warn against travel to Egypt we couldn't have felt safer.
