Description

The Space

This charming bedroom with it's own private bathroom, has four large windows (thermal-pane) and a comfy, and roomy queen size bed. It is full of light with plenty of storage for your things.
Great kitchen to prepare meals. Super bright with clean cutting boards, knives, high speed blender, juicer, food processor, a roomy french door stainless fridge, a ceramic topped stove that will bake with conventional or convection, coffee maker, toaster, microwave, your own shelves for your food and kitchen stuff.
This room does not have any common walls with any other bedroom.
Perfect for students with wifi, plenty of room to study and a nice desk and chair right in the room.
There is a corner market a 1/2 block away that specializes in gourmet coffee treats and deli sandwiches. A natural food store around the corner is stuffed with organic goodies, made to order juices, (wheat grass too) an easy walk to shopping & town center.
My house was built in 1916. There is a covered porch out front, perfect for your morning latte (shop just a 1/2 block away) and out the backdoor is a redwood deck with a table and chairs for lounging away the afternoon.
This is a good size, well designed home, comfortable, not fussy, a good place to kick back and enjoy.
The living room has large windows featuring the natural light with comfy furniture, perfect for curling up with a good book.
The walls downstairs, are all board and bead redwood, painted soft tones of blue and green.
The dining room is a good size with a hand built table and chairs. There are large windows supplying good natural light. It is a very pleasant room.
A nice space for eating, entertaining or studying. There is a rainbow staircase spiraling to the upstairs.
I have a great on-demand hot water system, so there is always plenty of hot water for showers and laundry. (There is a Kirkland shampoo in the shower for your use and a botanical shower gel.)
A high window and skylight, furnish the room with natural light, while ensuring privacy.
There are laundry facilities and laundry detergent for use and convenience.
I am happy to share my home with you, you will have full house privileges.
There is wifi and parking is available usually right in front of the house.
Please make yourself at home.
Please prepare food, bring guests over for dinner, lounge on the deck, drink coffee on the porch while enjoying the morning light. In other words, please use my home, freely for your enjoyment during your stay!

Interaction with Guests

I am in and out, attending to details and on-going projects. I am happy to provide rides, to the grocery or share my local knowledge as my schedule permits.
I enjoy the interactions with my guests but I do respect privacy and never enter a guest's room without permission.

The Neighborhood

This is the best neighborhood in all of Fort Bragg for LLI students, it is a 5 block walk, located in a quiet neighborhood.
Walking here is a joy, through our cozy and quaint historic downtown district with shops and groceries abounding, or through a quite neighborhood of charming 100+ year old homes.

Getting Around

We have a great public transit system here. I can often pick up guests as they arrive (my schedule permitting) , or for an additional $6, the transit company will drop you off at the door.
Pretty much everything is within walking distance. I am happy to provide rides to the store, if need arises and my schedule permits.

Other Things to Note

This is a wonderful area for walking and biking. Most parts of Fort Bragg and the beaches, can be easily reached on foot or by bike. You can ride along the headlands free of cars, once you reach the old haul road all the way to Macherricher State Park!
We have a decent bus line just a 1 1/2 blocks away.
Every 1/2 hour once northbound, once southbound, Monday through Friday until 6:30 pm.
Fort Bragg has wonderful beaches and great hiking trails.
This is a tobacco, drug and pet free home.
I live in the cottage behind the main house. I do have a dog and cat living with me. They do not go into the main house.

It is my goal to provide quality housing and and a peaceful learning environment for traveling nurses, per diem personnel and students, who come to study the arts.
I am interested in meeting new people and I enjoy listening to the tales of those who come to visit and live in our wonderful community of Fort Bragg.
I love to ride my bike, play in the garden, walk our incredible beaches and I am often involved in some sort of home or painting project.
I have spent time on the ocean as a commercial fishing boat owner and participated in several different fisheries
I also enjoy kayaking, hiking and walking along our beautiful ocean.
My moto: Participation rather than speculation.
