In Chamberlands on the west shore of Tahoe, the name of the cabin, Rustic 'Sol', captures its essence. Modernised and comfortable, the cabin retains its rustic Tahoe charm and soul. And atop a rise and south facing, it basks in glorious 'sol' (sun).
The 2 storey cabin has been renovated and appointed with a thoughtful combination of antique and modern furnishings to provide a comfortable stay while maintaining the rustic character. Some qualities include:
- Gas fireplace/stove for ambience and to protect the air quality in the Lake Tahoe basin.
- Triple pane windows for a draught free and warm stay.
- Central heating to ensure that every room, including the bathrooms, is comfortable.
- 46in LED Smart TV with access to internet apps such as YouTube, Pandora, Netflix; HD free to air TV stations; and a large library of movies and TV series.
- A chef's kitchen with granite counter tops and all new appliances
- New king and twin mattresses, bedding, and down comforters for a good night's sleep
- High speed internet, wifi and a telephone to stay connected.
- Access to Chamberlands private beach (beach ONLY, no pool or tennis access).
The land to the north slopes gently down over conservancy and forest service lots providing privacy, forest views, and excellent tobogganing opportunities.
The driveway is narrow and curves uphill to the house. In winter, 4WD/AWD or 2WD with snow chains is recommended.
Interaction with Guests
We do not live locally, however, the caretaker of the property who lives 10 minutes away will be happy to attend to any issues that may arise.
Rustic 'Sol' is the ideal mountain getaway regardless of whether it is outdoor adventure or relaxation that is on the agenda. The cabin is convenient to amazing skiing, hiking, mountain biking, and spectacular sandy beaches on the lake. In the summer, take the free shuttle to the beach, or in winter, call Homewood Mountain Resort for a free pickup.
Other Things to Note
Take advantage of our low low midweek rates for Spring. Please note that the nightly rate varies between mid week and weekend nights, and also according to season. Be sure to enquire about weekly discounts.
10% occupancy tax has been included in the rates shown on the calendar.
Minimum 2 nights spring, fall and winter.
Minimum 3 nights for summer and long weekends.
Minimum 4 nights for Thanksgiving period.
Minimum 4 nights during the Christmas period.
Check in and check out times may be flexible depending on how busy the rental period is.
1)Check in time: 4pm; Check out time: 10am
2)Maximum occupancy shall be 8 people.
3)Pets are only allowed when authorised by the owner. Guests shall ensure that pets are kept downstairs in uncarpeted areas and are kept off furniture. Pets are not to be left in the house on their own unless they are in a crate. A $30 pet fee applies.
4)The home is fully furnished with sheets and bath towels, basic kitchen and laundry supplies. The deck furniture and propane grill are not available during winter.
5)Bring your own beach towels.
6)Guests agree to indemnify and hold harmless the owner of the vacation home from any loss or personal injury suffered by the guests or invitees in relation to the rental of the vacation home. Guests shall immediately inform the owners upon learning of any unsafe or hazardous conditions.
7)Be BEAR AWARE! Do not leave food in your car. Use the green metal bear box to dispose of all trash. Close all windows and doors, and reinstate and activate the bear wires when leaving the house unattended.
8)Smoking is not allowed in the house.
9)We make every effort to keep the house in good shape. In the event of malfunction of any appliance or amenity, every effort will be made to have repairs made as soon as possible.
10)Cell phone coverage is limited. Guests are welcome to use the house phone for local and long distance calls in the United States. No international calls shall be made.
11)To protect the wood floors, do not wear ski or snowboard boots inside the house and ensure that all puddles are mopped up promptly. Leave skis and snowboards outside the house.
12)To ensure the comfort of all future guests, guests shall leave the cabin in a neat and tidy state. As a minimum, please ensure that the following has been completed before you leave or an additional cleaning fee may be imposed.
•Leave the kitchen as you found it. Remove all food and clean the fridge and all appliances. Clean and put away all dishes.
•Remove all trash in the house and place in bear box outside.
•Replace all furniture to their original place.
•Strip all the sheets and pillow shams from the beds that were used and place in a pile.
•Place a load of towels into the washer and start the wash cycle.
•Ensure the gas fireplace is off.
•Replace the gas fireplace remote to it's dock above the mantelpiece. Replace the TV and DVD player remotes on top of the DVD player.
•Turn the thermostat to Away mode in winter and Off in summer.
•If you have used the BBQ, ensure the valve to the propane tank has been turned off.
•Close and lock all windows.
•Replace the door key into the lockbox.
•Reinstate and activate the bear wires.
