Just over 1 hour from BK by car, walk to Smith’s Landing Beach! 3-min drive to Fire Island National Seashore (best beach in NY). Hit the beach, BBQ at home by the fire pit while the kids play on the jungle gym, tree swing and acre of land. Indoor fireplace! 20 min to Splish Splash, Tangers Outlets, Mill Pond and Bellport golf courses and 30 to Shinnecock Golf Club and Tates Bake. Pets allowed by permission only+ $40 added cleaning fee. 2 bdrm, 2 bath sleeps 6!

The space
There are 2 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms - one with a bathtub and one with a shower. There are basically 2 living room spaces, a fully equipped kitchen - with appliances like, a microwave, a Vitamix blender, a toaster, & a Japanese rice cooker. There is a dining area with a set of Golden Girls style swivel chairs.

Use our Roku Smart TV to log in to your favorite online content providers like Netflix and Amazon Prime Video and more. We also receive very basic antennae channels as well. Sorry, no cable.

There is a teepee for the kids to play in, our kids love it — keeps them busy for a while when the weather is not ideal to be outside.

There is a working vintage Malm-style fireplace!

*please note that we may not be available to shovel snow in winter as we live in Brooklyn and the very snow storm that blanketed our driveway out there may prevent us from driving out there to shovel.

*please note that while we do allow dogs sometimes, it is on a case by case basis. You must ask and receive permission before you can bring a dog and there is a minimum $40 additional cleaning fee for dogs of a shedding variety.

*This is a family home. We host mostly families, often with small children. Expect a well loved but also well lived in home with some scrapes and bruises from a life well lived. If you are expecting the Martha Stewart showroom you won't find it here. The flipside of that coin is that we are relaxed and understanding of parents with children and the accidents that come along with raising a child.

There are grocery stores, diners and restaurants a short drive away.

The beach offers a big playground with showers and a BYOPicnic BBQ area. In the summer time, you can hang out at the Beach Hut out on Fire Island where they have bands most nights of the week. If you have a 4x4 vehicle, you can get a seasonal or day pass (for a fee $$) to drive on the beach, which is AWESOME.

We both grew up in Hawaii and are now educators. My husband, Carsten speaks Danish and a little German and I speak Spanish fluently. We love delicious food and we are constantly exploring where to eat, especially in Brooklyn, but also in Manhattan and Queens. My husband is a musician, that is why the photos show the drum set and guitars. I love salsa dancing, and just dancing in general. We have 2 miniature poodles and a baby. Between the 2 of us, we have traveled to many different places around the world including Spain, Denmark, Italy, Switzerland, Japan, Germany, Austria, Korea, Mexico and more. When we travel, we are terrible tourists and end up being more interested in life of the local people, especially the food of the locals. Unfortunately, we usually end up neglecting the major sights! Oops!
