Description

The Space

Although it has a separate sleeping area I consider the Hideout a studio apartment due to its square footage. It features a cute, covered patio. It sleeps two but you can squeeze in a folding bed if needed

Self check in for your convenience. I leave a key out for you.
Kitchen is nicely stocked with serving ware, pots, pans, dishes & paper towels & basic seasons.

Travel light-Bathroom is well stocked with towels, shampoo, conditioner, soap, lotion, iron and blow dryer.

This 1st floor apartment comes with 2 beach chairs, an umbrella and beach towels. I have a collection of kids beach toys and coolers to lend out as well!

The Hideout is surrounded by organic gardens and is often visiting by my bunny Oreo (Who pretty much runs the place). Feel free to use the sitting areas in the garden and move the chairs around if needed.

Casual & fun atmosphere. Earth first---We recycle & compost.

Beaches:
Clearwater Beach- Awesome, city beach with all the fixings. Restaurants, bars, shopping and 3 miles of pure, white, sandy beaches. Pier 60 Sunset Festival 7 days a week 4-8 pm. Free movies on the beach Fri & Sat nights. 4.7 miles -drive, bike or take the bus. (URL HIDDEN)

Honeymoon Island State Park Beach-Voted top 10 beach in the country. Nature lovers will find osprey nests, a wide variety of shorebirds, and one of the few remaining virgin slash pine forests in South Florida. The park boasts several nature trails and bird observation areas. Visitors can swim, fish, and snorkel in the warm waters of the Gulf or picnic while they enjoy the beautiful scenery. Shelling is particularly good here, as the Gulf currents deposit an incredible variety of seashells on the shore. Showers are available and the park´s concession has a gift shop and snack bar. 7.3 miles-drive, bike or take the bus. (URL HIDDEN)

Caladesi Island-It is one of the few completely natural islands along Florida´s Gulf Coast, Caladesi´s white sand beaches were rated America's Best Beach in 2008. Beach lovers can enjoy swimming, sunbathing and beach combing. Saltwater anglers can cast a line from their boats or surf fish. Nature enthusiasts can spot wildlife while hiking the three mile nature trail through the island´s interior or paddling a three mile kayak trail through the mangroves and bay. Picnic tables and shelters are located near the beach. Take the ferry from Honeymoon Island. (URL HIDDEN)

Other fun stuff-
Delightful Downtown Dunedin-Quaint, funky, trendy vibe. (20 minute walk) Pubs, cafes, shopping & local art. Have dinner at one of the restaurants (you won't find any chain restaurants here and all of them are great. Then party all night at the Blur night club or have martini's at the Chic-A-Boom room. Interaction with Guests

I live in the yellow house next door and I'm happy to give recommendations on where to go how to get there. I'm not pushy about it and respect your privacy. If you don't see me around text or call me.

In your room you will find a guide book that gives you a lot of useful info. Internet Codes, fun things to see and do, how to get around, local grocery stores etc. I have lived in the area for 40 years and can tell you about all the best most fun places.

A little about the garden. Everything here is organic and edible, medicinal or useful in some way. My garden does not look like a traditional English style garden. I practice a system/lifestyle called permaculture. In a nutshell, a permanent culture that renews itself naturally. Feel free to wander around, use the sitting areas and gas grill. It is not uncommon to see an Egret hunting for his dinner in the garden. We are also home to the endangered Monarch Butterflies. During your stay you are likely to see Oreo, a rescue bunny who lives in the garden. She is allowed to roam free. She enjoys human companionship but doesn't like to be picked up or pet.

I have soil restoration projects, rain water harvesting and composting on site. I'm happy to give garden tours, gardening tips and advice upon request (to anyone who will listen!)

The Neighborhood

Your in the middle of the city but you feel like your out in the country.

Hi, welcome to Florida! I'm as low key and easy going as it gets. I love nature and have a big, edible garden behind the apartments. I also enjoy kayaking, art, books, theater, crafts and of course having fun with my family and friends.

My favorite vacation was a road trip out west with my camper and my dog. It lasted three months and I hiked all over Colorado, Utah and New Mexico. What scenery!

Being an Airbnb host has been an amazing experience. I've enjoyed meeting so many wonderful people. I love having college students around! Ask about my intern discount!
