A few specifics about the cottage that may be important for your decision-making.The cottage is attached to our home and shares a laundry room between the houses. It also shares a backyard space. We have a gas grill and lawn chairs available for guests who like outdoor dining. There is one "real bed" and a pull-out sofa bed. The "real bed" is a pillowtop softside waterbed with tubes. It is fully adjustable according to one's preference for soft or firm mattresses. (We can show long term renters how to adjust the mattress for their optimal comfort.)
The best weather in the Northwest is between mid-August and mid-October. Come explore our region. We are just an hour and a half from the Pacific Ocean, Mount Rainier, and the Olympic National Forest. We look forward to your visit!

We really enjoyed our stay at Grandma's Cottage. Marilyn and Clark were there to greet us. We have stayed there before so it was nice to catch up with them. They are very accomodating to our needs. We love the location and are able to walk to all kinds of places. The kitchen is very well furnished. The furnishings are quite quaint. We love staying there.
The cottage was very peaceful and well equipped. It was a wonderful place to come home to after a day of sight seeing. Our hosts were welcoming and had some helpful tips about the area. It was a wonderful place to stay!
SUCH a gracious and nice couple! The place is spacious and clean! Close to grocery stores and they even offered to let us use their washer dryer since we had been camping on the road for a few weeks! It was the perfect place for us to rest up for more camping !
I had a 3 month stay with my girlfriend at Grandma's Garden Cottage and the experience could not have been better. Marilyn and her family were very welcoming and provided help and advice whenever we asked. The home had everything we needed to live comfortably. The location is excellent. There are many stores and interesting places within walking distance including parks and a marina. Although Washington is a large state, the location is central to all of the sites we wanted to see including those around Seattle, Mt Rainier, Mt Saint Helens, and the Olympic Peninsula.
The hosts were really nice and accommodating. We loved the cottage. It was very clean and had everything we needed. The cottage was close to restaurants, Starbucks and even a nice mall. We even had a deer in our yard one morning!! Would stay there again for sure. Thank you to Marilyn and her husband. We loved Olympia.
"Grandma's Garden Cottage" was the best AirBnb I have had the pleasure of staying in. A very quite area of Olympia but within very close driving distance of all of the amenities of Olympia. The "Cottage" was very clean and well decorated. It had a heater as well as an air conditioner but didn't have to use either as the weather was perfect. If you have a rental car you will take comfort in knowing you will have your own driveway that leads right up to the front door. Hopefully the "Cottage" will be available next time I am up in Olympia. Many thanks to the hosts for a very comfortable and worry free stay.
Our experience was a cozy and quiet visit together, old friends that we were.. THe space was clean and well designed and located just a step away outside from a beautiful collection of flowers that had been groomed by their grandmother... and still beautiful. We played and sang together using the guitar that they had left there, then we watched their tv for awhile. All very comfortable . It was located quite a ways out of town (Olympia), so being without a car made it difficult to get to... we used the fine transit system there. Returning, the owner cordially gave us a ride in his truck back to town. For dinner we walked 2 blocks to a take out Asian diner an then spent some leisurely minutes in the nice park next door. A very heart warming time and we would recommend it to others as a welcoming place to stay in Olympia, WA!
