A few specifics about the cottage that may be important for your decision-making.The cottage is attached to our home and shares a laundry room between the houses. It also shares a backyard space. We have a gas grill and lawn chairs available for guests who like outdoor dining. There is one "real bed" and a pull-out sofa bed. The "real bed" is a pillowtop softside waterbed with tubes. It is fully adjustable according to one's preference for soft or firm mattresses. (We can show long term renters how to adjust the mattress for their optimal comfort.)

The best weather in the Northwest is between mid-August and mid-October. Come explore our region. We are just an hour and a half from the Pacific Ocean, Mount Rainier, and the Olympic National Forest. We look forward to your visit!

  • Marilyn and Clark were great! Getting in was easy. They made us feel most welcome. And Grandma's Garden Cottage was very comfortable. I would recommend it to anyone who wants a quiet, safe, comfortable place in the heart of west Olympia.

  • My stay was made enjoyable because Marilyn was a very friendly and helpful host. She even shared er sweet and delicious plums and Chinese apple from her garden.
The facilities was good with a full kitchen and washer/dryer.
If you are in Olympia, you should stay in Marilyn's home.
It is very enjoyable and fuss-free.

  • Our stay at Marilyn & Clark's was so lovely! My sister and I spent the first 2 nights of our first trip to Washington in their pretty, spacious cottage. We enjoyed everything, from the Italian plum trees in the backyard to the warmth of the living room fireplace.

Marilyn and Clark were so accommodating ... we arrived 3 hours sooner than expected and asked if we could check-in early. They were able to welcome us with warm smiles and make us feel at home right away. We also got great food, transit & farmer's market shopping tips from them (always a bonus when visiting a new city).

I recommend a visit to Olympia, if only to meet Marilyn & Clark and bask in the glow of their Pacific NW warmth!

  • This was our first experience using Airbnb. We were very pleased with Grandmas Cottage. It was even better than it looked in the pictures. The bed was wonderful. We haven't slept so well in a long time. Marilyn and Clark were very gracious and were so helpful with any of our questions. They made us feel like we were all special friends. The location is fantastic. We were able to walk to just about everything we needed. Puget Sound is very close and it is easy to get on the main freeway to Seattle. We will definitely plan on staying at the "cottage" again!!.

Thanks, Deidre, for your review and feedback. I've since taken care of everything on your list of suggestions. And, i have tried to describe the aterbed in the listing. I hope you are well and the fall is bringing restful tiems for you.

  • Loved the little cottage. Marilyn and family were very friendly and unobtrusive. Quaint decor and lit nicely by windows all around. The garden is lush and very inviting.

Look forward to my next stay.

  • We have had a very lovely two month stay at GGC. The space is generous enough for a couple or family, with a comfy queen bed and full private kitchen for cooking. Internet is good, plenty of fluffy towels & best of all, looks out on a peaceful mossy garden. Feels tucked away but is just up the hill from shopping and restaurants & within walking distance of downtown Oly.

Marilyn & family are the best! Kind, attentive and helpful. went out of their way to put us at ease & help us navigate the area. Highly recommend a stay here!
