Interaction with Guests
Your crew of 4 to 5 compose of Captain Bob, Fishing guide, Chef, and co-owner Penni. You will have as much or as little interaction with the staff per your desire. The yacht is your sanctuary for the time you are there. It is fun to help with the anchors and learn about yachting but is not necessary.
The neighborhood couldn't be any better here in Alaska...fresh air, wildlife, and views beyond what you can even imagine or see in our photos. It's quite indescribable to go out on the 3rd floor deck in the middle of the night, seeing all the stars and listening to the silence. Pictures nor words can really have you get how life-changing this Charter experience will be for you and your family. You will joke for years about what happened when you caught your first salmon or relaxed in Baranof Hot Springs ( only accessible via boat or biplane).
Getting around on a Yacht? Well, there is a 28 ft Fishing Tender that we bring along for exploring islands, towns, & coves. You can also use the kayaks. Every night we set the anchor in a different amazing cove and sometimes wake to see bears playing on the beach.
Other Things to Note
We are always in the Inner Passages so there is very little motion on the boat. You do not need to worry about sea-sickness. But if you are concerned bring ear patches prescribed by your doctor.
The Captain is always right....well on the water he can marry people or even send them to jail if they misbehave but this Captain is one of the nicest and most knowledgeable Capt's around. He's easy going and always willing to answer questions.
--Just remember you are on a boat out in the middle of no where and use common sense.
--You can rent a Satellite phone if you wish or need. Ask us for details.
About the Host, Elaine
I love sharing my two homes with guests. Some say that my home is an addiction. It's always saying things like: Wouldn't crown molding look great over here? But...I have a love of music. -I write, perform, and teach harp. Though I used to live in Paris,Maui, and even Tunisia, Africa, I'm always happy to get back home. I miss Lakewood when I'm away because here, friends are truly friends. We love to spend time at to our local restaurants just letting our hair down. I think that when people travel they open up new worlds to themselves and others. They bring their culture and ways of thinking. It was Mark Twain who said that Travel is lethal to prejudice and ignorance. Why do I like to share my home? The satisfaction I feel in knowing friends and families have a unique place to stay and hang out together is immeasurable.
Success is: If you have found a way to live well, love well and laugh well every day then you are successful. Come and stay here, but make sure you love and laugh.
