My wife Georgia and I would be excited to welcome you into our home. You'll have a private room and bathroom and access to our common areas. The McKinney square, with live music, food, shops and bars is walkable, and access to all of DFW is easy.
This is your bedroom. Placed in the front of house, you have lots of light and a view toward the front porch and side street. The bed is a queen temperpedic - very comfortable.
We just moved in, so check our reviews from our previous house to get a better idea of what our guests think about staying with us.
You'll have your own full bathroom, closet, and queen-sized tempurpedic bed. The bedroom has two sunny windows that allow you to see the porch and front yard. If you're bringing a third guest, we have a futon that folds out to provide more sleeping space.
We'll share our kitchen and living spaces with you, as well as our porch (my favorite place to be when the weather is right). When you wake up, you'll have a French press and ground coffee available for you to enjoy. WiFi is available to all guests for free. We have plenty of room for parking around the house.
Interaction with Guests
Georgia and I have loved getting to know many of our guests and enjoy visiting as time allows. However, we're happy to give our guests as much privacy as they prefer.
McKinney is an old community increasingly surrounded by the Dallas sprawl. Fortunately, its historic charm has been maintained. You'll see lots of early twentieth century homes. I've been told its the porch capital of the United States. Everyone has at least one - our house has two!
Within walking distance, you'll find the McKinney Square, a resurrected town center that is full of restaurants, bars, live music and plenty of shopping. It takes my wife and me about 5 minutes to walk there. We're happy to share our favorite spots with you - pizza, burgers, clothing and jewelry stores, beer, steaks, French cuisine, antiques, and of course, Mexican food are all within a 10 minute walk! There are plenty of chain restaurants and fast food within a short drive. We're a three minute drive from HWY 75.
Public transportation is unfortunately nonexistent in McKinney. However, we are walking distance from the square and everything it offers. Also, we don't mind lending our bikes out.
No smoking in the house, but outside is fine.
Ryan and his wife had a charming house and were incredibly accomedating of a last minute schedule change on my end. The room is lovely and the matress was amazing!
This was such a pleasant stay. We didn't have the opportunity to visit much with Ryan and Georgia, but after a very long day of travel, Ryan was up at 3:30 am to greet us and make us feel welcome. It was pretty remarkable. The neighborhood is near downtown McKinney which is a very charming area full of boutiques and delicious food. The house was so warm and comfortable. Thank Ryan and Georgia for being such magnanimous hosts!
GREAT property & neighborhood! Wonderful experience, house and hosts. The bed is very comfortable, and the bathroom is clean and roomy. The house is full of character and beautiful taste. The hosts are low-key and helpful. Would happily stay here again!
This was our first repeat booking anywhere via AirBnB, and Ryan & Georgia were warm and welcoming, just as on our last visit! Their new house is large, clean, pleasant, eclectic and decorated with charm, and the location is perfect (walking distance to McKinney old town centre). Most of all, they are excellent hosts, made us feel right at home (almost like we were visiting family!), and we look forward to staying with them again - hopefully soon!
This was my first experience with airbnb and won't be my last. My hosts were excellent - thoughtful and helpful and I really felt comfortable and at home. Everything went smoothly and to plan. I chose McKinney because I wanted an authentic Texan neighbourhood and town square and it was all that and more. Georgia's recommendations for food were delicious and being able to walk off the meal back to their house on the beautiful tree-lined streets, listening to cicadas, looking at the beautiful porches - Ryan told me McKinney is known as the porch capital of America - will be a great memory of my short time in Texas.
This was my first AirBnB experience, and I hope to use it often in the future. I can say that if my future hosts are as awesome as Ryan’s family I may never use a hotel again.
Ryan’s family was more than I could have hoped for. I actually did not meet Ryan but his family was an awesome proxy.
I learned that one of the greatest aspects of the AirBnB experience is the awesome people you get to meet along the way.
I highly recommend staying with the Miller Family at the “Cozy Bungalow near McKinney Square”
Bittersweet stay this time. We're finally moving into our house in McKinney, but that means no more airbnb stays with Ryan and Georgia. Don't hesitate to book with them. Can't give enough positive comments!

My wife and I live in McKinney. She's a 4th grade teacher, and I work at a local marina on Lake Lewisville. We like traveling, listening to old records, sitting on the porch, being outside and meeting new people. We particularly love Latin America and have both spent some time living down there and spent our most recent trip down south backpacking through Costa Rica, Panama and Colombia.
