We loved our visit to Santa Cruz, and loved the location for our stay. What a beautiful little scenic town.... we enjoyed blending in with the locals. Great location right near the beach and close to everything. Would definitely come back and stay here.

The location of Tara's place was great - super walkable to east cliff. We enjoyed yummy breakfast burritos at the point a few blocks away. The space itself is as advertised. It was clean, light and had a lovely shower and private patio. Tara had fresh fruit and breakfast goodies stocked for us. One point to note- the unit itself feels private, but it is within the main house and the entry is through the living room.

We will definitely return the next time our schedules permit a getaway weekend for the two of us in Santa Cruz! Tara's place is such a cozy quiet suite with privacy. From the suite's deck you can hear waves crashing on the beach in the distance. We don't always get a good night's rest away from the comfort of our familiar bed at home, but we both slept soundly at Tara's. The slow pace of Santa Cruz, walking along Cliff Drive, hiking at the forest of Nisene Marks all helped us unwind from our Silicon Valley day to day stress.

Tara's is a wonderful Airbnb choice! This was a 20 year wedding anniversary trip, just my wife and I, and this could not have been a better choice. The room is so comfortable, the design and decor, the private balcony through the French doors, the beautiful modern design of the ensuite bath is really so comfortable. The room is very private, you have the whole upstairs to yourself. Tara provides B&B amenities in the room, coffee maker with a variety of brews to choose from, fresh fruit, juices in the stocked mini-fridge. Tara is a real "local", she knows all about the area and provides excellent guidance for people visiting the area for the first time. The location is excellent, about 3 blocks from the Pleasure Point surf beach along the Cliff Drive, wonderful strolling path all along the cliff top. The immediate neighborhood is quiet and feels very safe. Many great restaurants and coffee shops within moderate walk and short drive distances from the house. We became hooked on the Cat and Cloud coffee house, beans roasted on-site and artful baristas pour a perfect cup. The baked goods on site are extraordinary (and I'm not even that into baked goods!) We would absolutely recommend this area over Santa Cruz "proper" as it's pretty busy and touristy. Pleasure Point is historic, authentic, and real. Tara is the consummate host, she gets 5 stars! We were thrilled to support this independent operator, she works hard at making you feel at home here without being overbearing. You can come and go as you please, anytime of day. Seriously, why would you give your money to the stockholders of JW Marriott when you can support a real person in a real neighborhood who returns those dollars directly to the local economy? This is one of the best value places we've ever stayed! This is the essence of "buying local" and it is worth every penny.

Tara's place was perfect for our weekend in Pleasure Point, Santa Cruz. Very private space with an outside deck and very spacious private bath. Very thoughtful treats and coffee. Short walk to the beach. Would definitely recommend.

I really enjoyed my stay at Tara's B&B! The location was great, just a few blocks from East Cliff drive and I went for a few great walks along the ocean. Pleasure Point is such a great place to hang out. The suite was clean and bright and the porch was delightful. Tara provided fresh fruit and yogurt for breakfast which was great. Communication was easy and I was able to check in an hour early. I only briefly met Tara and her son, but they were both very nice, respectful and quiet. And Lily the dog was very friendly too! I'd definitely come and stay again and I highly recommend to other travelers.

We stayed five nights in the private up-stairs suite and LOVEd it ! We really enjoyed the little porch with plants and sunshine every morning. The location is fantastic, just a block away from Pleasure Point where you can watch the surfers and a few blocks from great restaurants. We would definitely come back to stay.

I love living in the Pleasure Point neighborhood of Santa Cruz; people are friendly, and walk in the neighborhood. My dogs go to the beach every day to explore and play with other people with their dogs, kids building sand castles, and watch the many surfers taking advantage of the breaks.
I teach yoga, practice myself, and work privately with individuals, encouraging them to slow down, breathe, and occupy our bodies
My son, Peter, lives in the house; he is a chef at a well know Hotel/Restaurant in Santa Cruz..
I'm happy to help you find your way around town and visit a bit, and also like my space so am happy to give you yours. We don't like surprises (don't bring guests we haven't been told about, or ?)...We like clear communication.
