The public buses are very near! Walking distance from the house also restaurants are walking distance .
Other Things to Note
A brand new swimming pool!!! Chlorinated with salt which is better for your hair and skin and for the environment.
No pets allowed, no smoking, no loud music
My family and I had a great experience at Casa Camino Viejo. We were met by Jonathan, the property manager who gave us keys and showed us around. He was easy to contact, spoke great English, was helpful with restaurant suggestions and booked a few tours for us.
The house was very nice and comfortable. Great kitchen, small but comfortable living area with lots of movies on DVD. The saltwater pool is very nice! The showers were hot once you figured out how the handle worked. We loved the outdoor porch with lots of seating space and the hammocks downstairs where a great addition.
The house is in a good location about 6 or 7 minute drive from both Quepos and Manuel Antonio. We had a car which was nice, though you could walk to a few restaurants from the house. You could also walk to the main road where the buses pick up.
We did get to meet Gretel and her husband one day when they were in town to do some work on the house. They are very nice and offered some great restaurant suggestions for us.
Both Gretel and Jonathan where very quick to respond to phone calls and emails, which is greatly appreciated. There was a maintainence guy that came by several times to clean the pool and take care of stuff around the property. The property is fenced, gated and all windows and doors have bars..so we felt safe, though it didn't seem like a dangerous area anyway.
We had a visit from about 20 or 30 squirrel monkeys one evening in the trees outside..cute!!
All in all it was a great experience and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone.
Just returned from a week stay in Quepos/Manuel Antonio. Myself and two fishing buddies stayed in Casa Camino Viejo. Our only regret is that we could not stay for another week. This house was a great find on Airbnb. It's prefect for a family or a small group of fishermen.
The house is exactly as described and is equipped with everything you could need other than your clothes. We could not have picked a more perfect location, with the house located between Quepos and Manuel Antonio. This is near many restaurants, bars and the national park. The house is very safe, with a fully fenced-in yard and an electric gate. Gretel, the owner, was a great host and she went well out of her way to make sure we enjoyed our stay. I'd stay in this home again in a heartbeat. This rental is a true value. Thanks a bunch Gretel. Alan West
We couldn't have asked for a better property! Secluded area up in the hills, but 5 minutes to Quepos or Manuel Antonio Beach, very lush surrounding, beautiful pool (pool guy came by every morning to clean), house is large, well stocked, I mean they have everything (even a rice cooker!). Large bedrooms, lots of natural light, it was a real pleasure to be here. I would strongly recommend this property to anyone considering coming to Manuel Antonio. Gretel was an absolute pleasure, check-in was easy, and she was always just a quick phone call away.
The reservation was canceled the day before arrival. This is an automated posting.
Gretel's home was truly a wonderful experience for our family of 4. I travelled with my parents and 21 year old brother. The house sits facing West on a hill above Quepos with a view of private grove of trees (and the monkeys swinging in their branches). The location is really great since it is off the main Manuel Antonio road but both the resort and local town are equally accessible. The house itself is gorgeous with beautiful wood details, a very large back deck, and incredible private pool. We were lucky enough to spend many hours relaxing poolside between our beach time and other activities. The pool was also checked and cleaned regularly during our stay.
We stayed for a full week in which time the house keeper came to clean and wash and change our sheets. We were also able to use the washer and dryer which helped us get through a week with lightly packed suitcases.
The kitchen... Ohhh the kitchen. I spent hours playing private chef for my family. The kitchen had everything you need including a view of the rainforest as you scramble up eggs. If you don't feel like cooking Gretel's family owns a restaurant two doors down that was incredible and serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
The whole experience was extremely comfortable and honestly very hard to leave behind. Gretel was a wonderful host who has a team of people who are also very accessible to help make your time even easier. There is no doubt that our family will return to her home.
The home was absolutely amazing. Jonathan was the guy that the us at the house to let us in and he was so helpful and accommodating. I would definitely 100% stay here again if it was available. Very spacious with a lot of balcony area to enjoy the sunset and view and the pool was very refreshing. Proximity to bars and restaurants were definitely a plus as well.
This was such a great find on Air BnB. This house is spacious, fully equipped. Kitchen supplies are all available for use, and there are even movies and games that guests can use.
Location is great! Our driver had no problem finding the house with Gretel's directions.
Gretel made sure that we were comfortable and had someone named Jonathan there to greet us when we arrived. Jonathan was always available to us to help with booking activities and arranging transport as well.
The house has 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a large kitchen. There's also a large porch out back with a view of the rain forest where we saw a huge group of monkeys one morning. There is also a pool which was still under construction when we went but it was due to be finished any day now. In the meantime, they did allow us to use another pool in the same compound.
Once again, location is great! About a 10 minute drive from Manuel Antonio National Park but just far enough from the big, busy streets. Just next door, or maybe 2 doors down, there's a restaurant, owned by the same family, where we ate every night because the food and piña coladas were just delicious!
I would highly recommend this house for your stay in Manuel Antonio.
